Running Scared

Wednesday, February 23rd, 2011

The abortion industry is beginning to get desperate. With the recent House vote in favor of defunding Planned Parenthood, they are pulling out all the stops and reaching for straws in order to keep their baby-killing money-making machine running. An email sent from Planned Parenthood Action Fund’s President, Cecile Richards pleads with supporters, not once but five times, to make emergency donations because the next ten days could decide the future of the company. In the email, she states, “Over the next 10 days, we will make sure that every single senator knows just how critical Planned Parenthood health centers are to three million women every year. And we will make sure that every single senator sees the faces of the one in five women who have been to a Planned Parenthood health center in their lifetime. That’s millions of people, standing as one.“ Never in the email did she ask their supporters to contact their Senators, just send money.

A website that has been brought to our attention is Fund Abortion Now. The website is a resource for women to get financial help paying for an abortion. They solicit those with money to help pay for abortions when a woman doesn’t have the money to pay for it. Really sad. Many women seeking abortions are doing so because of financial woes over how they would be able to take care of a baby financially as with the couple in the much publicized MTV reality show, No Easy Decision. Another example is Congresswoman Gwen Moore who said that a baby would be better off dead than to have to eat ramen noodles. It is puzzling to me why anyone would be so invested in someone else killing their child that they would be willing to donate money to make it a reality. As I said before, it’s just plain sad.

On their website, they help women/girls to find money in places to abort their babies. This same money could be used to support life instead of paying for an abortion. The list is extremely long. Someone really put a lot of thought into how someone may find the money to pay for an abortion. Even to the point of taking out a loan, selling your car, sell your furniture, television, or dropping classes in college and getting partial tuition refund. These same tactics can also be used to save that life. Why don’t they mention that? Oh yeah, they wouldn’t make any money then.

Why can’t people see how destructive abortion is? What it does to people and their thinking? What it will do to their health? What it will do to them psychologically?

There are Crisis Pregnancy Centers that can help with resources and life-affirming alternatives to abortion. Just call 1-800-395-HELP (4357).

Last Week A Judge Declared Unconstitutional An Ordinance Targeted At Crisis Pregnancy Centers (CPCs)

Tuesday, February 1st, 2011

A remarkable victory for the Pro-Life Movement!!!

A judge hearing a case brought by The Greater Baltimore Center for Pregnancy Concerns, Inc. (the “CENTER”) made a favorable ruling stating that the ordinance which was passed on December 4, 2009 was unconstitutional based on the CENTER’s first amendment rights.

The Ordinance imposed a duty on the CENTER to post signage in their waiting rooms stating that they do not perform abortions and do not make referrals for abortions.

The judge, in his ruling states, “the First Amendment means that government has no power to restrict expression because of its message, its ideas, its subject matter, or its content. Accordingly, the government cannot inhibit, suppress, or impose differential content-based burdens on speech.” and further states that, “It is true that the Ordinance does not directly regulate the content of a limited-service pregnancy center’s speech in the sense of restricting what it can say. However, requiring the placement of a “disclaimer” sign in the center’s waiting room is, on its face, a form of compelled speech. Moreover, the Ordinance regulates the center’s speech by mandating the timing and content of the introduction of the subjects of abortion and birth-control.”

We applaud the judge’s courage to stand up against the big money machine of the abortion industry and rule correctly in favor of the CENTER.

This ruling will no doubt give courage to other judges as other cities like New York and Washington State try to pass similar ordinances in an effort to silence the opposition to the abortion industry. These ordinances are designed to place undue burdens on CPCs by imposing fines and even the threat of closure if a CPC fails to comply with the ordinance, some that go as far as making them plaice such disclaimers, not just in their waiting rooms, but on all advertising and printed material in the office.

Please pray for and support the CPCs in your local areas. Together we can bring an end to abortion. They’re scared and the CPCs are being effective or they wouldn’t be going after them.

New York City Council On Blast. CPCs Rock!

Thursday, January 6th, 2011

On Monday the 10th I will be going to New York for a rally in opposition of New York City Council Bill #371 which seeks to place stricter restrictions on pregnancy centers.

I have visited many crisis pregnancy centers (CPC) all over the country. In fact, I just visited one today in Kentucky and it was beautiful as most of the ones around the country are. The centers are welcoming, warm, and the staff/volunteers are very friendly. They offer great services such as free pregnancy tests, free sonograms, counseling, free prenatal care, food, clothing and referrals for housing. Not only do they care and help the expectant mothers while she’s pregnant, they also help after the birth of the baby. Many offer parenting classes, continued help with baby needs such as diapers, wipes, formula, clothes and yes, sometimes some financial assistance.

In yesterday’s blog I talked about how “women/couples who are pregnant wouldn’t have to be scared or worried about how they would be able to handle having a baby or another baby. There would be plenty of people to offer help and assistance” if abortion ended in America. In fact, they can stop worrying right now because there are already plenty of CPCs in America, outnumbering abortion centers, which are ready, willing and even eager to help them.

Pro-choice advocates want to try and eliminate their existence because they stand in the face of their abortion agenda. They don’t want you to know that there is another choice to abortion. If they present the choices (from their point of view) the women facing unexpected pregnancies won’t really feel that they have a choice. To be perfectly honest, when CPCs present the choices, they are supporting an agenda too, but that agenda is on the side of life, not death. Someone once said something that makes a lot of sense. Oh yeah, it was God when he said, “This day I call the heavens and the earth as witnesses against you that I have set before you life and death, blessings and curses. Now choose life, so that you and your children may live” Deuteronomy 30:19 (NIV)

CPCs help women choose life. Abortion clinics help women choose death.

Choose CPCs that you and your child may live.

Post-Abortive Women React to MTV’s “No Easy Decision”

Staten Island, NY – Women from the Silent No More Awareness Campaign (SNMAC) reacted with sorrow and disappointment today at MTV’s “No Easy Decision” program depicting a young mother with an infant child who goes through an abortion.

“My heart broke for Markai, not just for her difficult situation, but for the lack of counseling she received,” said Georgette Forney, a co-founder of SNMAC. “This abortion decision was driven by economics, but no one told Markai about the help available to her from pregnancy resource centers. No one told her that this didn’t have to be ‘Sophie’s Choice,’ having one child die so the other could live.”

“The abortion clinic told this young woman to think of her unborn baby ‘as a little ball of cells,’” added Janet Morana, another co-founder of SNMAC. “It was yet another example of so called abortion counselors acting as unethical salesmen, telling women anything to influence them toward abortion.”

Dr. Alveda King, Director of African American Outreach for Priests for Life and a SNMAC spokeswoman, said she identified with the young woman in the program. “I ached for Markai,” stated Dr. King. “Before one of my abortions, Planned Parenthood told me that my baby was ‘just a clump of cells.’ Decades later, this beautiful young mother was told the same lie. I pray that Markai and all women like her will seek true healing and restoration from a caring post-abortion program like Rachel’s Vineyard.”

Since the launching of the Silent No More Awareness Campaign in 2003, 3,877 women and men have shared their testimonies publicly at over 572 gatherings in 48 states and ten countries where more than 110,830 attendees have heard the truth about abortion’s negative aftereffects. More than 9,027 people are registered to be Silent No More. Raising awareness about the hurtful aftermath of abortion and the help that is available to cope with the pain are two of the Campaign’s goals.

The Silent No More Awareness Campaign is a joint project of Anglicans for Life and Priests for Life. For more information, please visit our website.

From Conception To Natural Death: Pro-Life Means Pro-Family

Tuesday, November 16th, 2010

Recently we have been getting a lot of questions on why the pro-life movement only cares about stopping abortions. We are accused of saying, “Don’t kill your baby” and then disappearing from the lives of the mothers. Actually, the reverse is true. It begins with saying, “Jesus loves you and your baby. Let us help you.” And we can help!

Really being pro-life means caring and supporting the mother from conception to natural death. For example, the Pro-Life Pro-Family Coalition was formed for this very purpose from the beginning. The organization was founded in 1985, to save the lives of unborn babies and the family. Founded by Rev. Micah Crawford Sr., the organization is now run by his son Dr. Micah Crawford Jr. They have been, not only saving babies, but helping the family for over 25 years.

In January of this year Priests for Life collaborated with Foundation for African Cultural Heritage (RACH) on a project entitled “Stable, Strong & Happy Families.” Although ending abortion was one of the topics discussed, it was among many other topics about family values, building strong marriages, women empowerment and a host of other life affirming topics. Priests for Life not only wants to save the babies but also wants to help the mothers as is evident by their resource page on their website. Resources that cover every aspect from resources for being able to raise a healthy baby like parenting classes, medical, financial and personal assistance to adoption resources, if the mother decides to make an adoption plan.

There are so many Crisis Pregnancy Centers (CPCs) all over the United States that are ready, able, and willing to talk to you and present you with options besides abortion. Unlike Planned Parenthood, which profits greatly from their abortion services, CPCs do not profit if you choose life for your baby. Their reward is in Heaven and, of course, the joy of seeing the picture of your newborn baby.

Choosing life for your baby does not mean that you will be left alone. Being pro-life means we care about all human life. In fact, even if you’ve had an abortion and need help, we can help. There is help through groups like Rachel’s Vineyard and Silent No More Awareness Campaign.

So the next time someone says that pro-lifers don’t care about you once they have your baby, ask them, “Why are you lying to me?” then tell them, “Alveda said that they do care and will help me, not just my baby.” This next part is optional, but then you can say to him/her, “I’ll say a prayer for you” – but really mean it.

How Does It Affect The Children

Thursday, October 7th, 2010

In the news today is a story by Jill Stanek about a nurse who works at an abortion killing center and the affects it had on her daughter. It recounts the horrific things the daughter went through as she grew up with a “feminist” mother. Abigail Seidman recounts the “celebration” her mother gave her when she had her abortion and referring to the abortion she said, “When it was over, Abigail’s mother looked at her with tears in her eyes and told her how proud she was. Despite Abigail’s previous academic and artistic accomplishment, she realized “this was the only time in my life that my mother had ever said she was proud of me.” And responding to the interviewer’s question regarding the abortion worship she had heard so much about, Abigail said, “It is very real,” she explained. “It can sound fantastical, but some go so far as to worship death goddesses like Kali and Hecate and consider abortion to be a form of sacrifice. They are often obsessed with their menstruation and blood as well.” Sound familiar. (See blog of Sept. 28, 2010 below)

Here is an excerpt from Abigail’s testimony”

“It is important to recognize and effectively counter the culture of death that drives the abortion industry. Most people who are pro-choice have no idea about it. If they have given the issue any thought at all, they view it as either a religious one – “Christians hate women and sex” – or a civil-rights one – “Women have the right to make their own reproductive decisions.” Many are unaware of the scientific facts about fetal development. Many are unaware of the statistics and medical facts regarding miscarriages, infertility, infection, ectopic pregnancy, difficult births, cancers and mental-health issues that so often occur in post-abortive women. Many are unaware of the non-religious arguments against abortion.”

Just earlier this week we told you about Rebecca Walker, another mother who also had grown up with a “feminist” mother. Both tell of their ordeal and how they had been raised to hate men, and view abortion as the solution to many problems. But nothing is further from the truth.

Please read the stories of Abigail Seidman and Rebecca Walker and see the similarities in what they were told and how they discovered the real truth.

The last time we blogged about Rebecca Walker, someone commented that not all feminist are like the ones in these stories. We agree and think it’s important to point out that there are groups out there doing good work like Feminists for Life and Susan B. Anthony List. I think that the difference is in the feminist’s moral values as both Abigail and Rebecca had to find out the hard way.

If you find yourself pregnant and alone and you don’t know how you can raise a child, there are other available options that abortion. There are also many organizations that are ready, willing, and able to help you find out the best solution for you. All you need to do is take the first step and call. Here is a link to abortion alternatives.

If you or anyone you know has been affected, coerced or traumatized by anti-life/pro-abortion feminist tactics, there is a support network. Please email me at

God bless you.

Perception vs. Reality

Thursday, July 22nd, 2010

Recent federal statistics show that 37% of African-American pregnancies end in abortion (compared to 19% of all pregnancies). Yet in national polling that Priests for Life commissioned among African Americans, 41% surveyed believed that Black women obtain fewer abortions than women of other races.

When they were made aware of the actual statistics, most of them said this was reason for concern. And they did not feel their religious leaders were making as much of an issue of this as they should. African Americans are ready to receive the help they need, and to encourage friends and relatives to choose life. When African American women are twice as likely as the average woman to get an abortion, it’s time to stand with them in love and concrete help.
