Thank God for Our President’s Prayers: More Hope for Life from Womb to the Tomb

Friday, May 3rd, 2019

“Then if my people who are called by my name will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sins and restore their land.” – 2 Chronicles 7:14 NLT

May history always remember the day the President of The United States humbly acknowledged God our Creator at the annual National Day of Prayer on May 2, 2019. My heart was filled with love for humanity, faith for a gloriously transformed nation, and hope for a better day there in the Rose Garden of the White House on yesterday.

The sincere prayers of our Vice President and our First Lady set the tone for the impactful message delivered by America’s 45th president; Donald J. Trump. As the President spoke, tears filled my eyes, and during the lovely worship song, I heard myself resounding along with many gathered there: HALLELUJAH!

President Trump reaffirmed “In God we Trust” in so many ways. His strengthening of America’s religious freedom, his affirmation of the sanctity of life from the womb to the tomb, his compassion for those burdened by the opioid crisis; all of which are powerfully blanketed in prayer by those in support of the POTUS agenda, is so very encouraging.

When Rabbi Yisroel Goldstein called President Trump a healer, the resounding amens from among those gathered were remindful of the need of a great awakening. President Trump recently said he believes in redemption. Indeed, God has placed America on a path to redemption.

The Spirit of the Living God is upon many of us, evident in the POTUS delivery on promises of criminal justice reform, economic assistance for everyone, sanctity of life, compassionate humanitarian intervention and so much more.

Indeed, we are red-blooded Americans, endowed by our Creator with certain inalienable rights. President Trump has rightly noted that we all bleed the same. We must thank God for this insight.

In this light, let’s pray, “against all odds,” for our President, his family, and his valiant administrative team; for their continuing strength and success.

As we remember the ministry of the Prophet MLK, we must come together; as the one blood human race, created in the image of God: we are not colorblind.

Looking ahead to 2020, as we choose abundant life, may we learn to live together as brothers and sisters; so that we do not perish together as fools.

As we are moving forward in prayer, let us continue to pray; to unite in God’s love and mercy. May God bless us to see the day that America is redeemed and whole, amen.

Black Women Challenge Politicians and Hollywood: We are “Soul Sisters” – Let’s Talk

Loretto Grier Cudjoe, The Peoples Agenda

In response to mounting abortion mania from Black politicians and Hollywood Celebrities, Black activists are crying out. The current opposition to the “Heartbeat Bill” that will save the lives of countless babies and their mothers is unconscionable, taking on nightmare proportions of illogical justification. Consequently, Black Prolife activists urge opponents across the spectrum of Hollywood, politics and every walk of life to “meet in the public square” for a “come to Jesus” encounter. We should not be enemies. We have a common cause, to live, to grow and prosper. There has to be a better way to escape racism, abuse and poverty than killing our own; and not just by gun violence and Black on Black crime. Abortion is the number one culprit; killing millions of us as our women and children are being led to the slaughter.

The women are part of a larger group of African American leaders, the National Black Prolife Coalition, who see abortion as a cruel detriment to the growth of their communities.

“This Holy Week is the perfect time to pray for mothers and their unborn children. Thank God that Mary did not abort Jesus; even though her pregnancy was inconvenient in the eyes of many. Here in the 21st century, the infanticide and risks to a mother’s health are warning signals that abortion is never a healthy option for women. Black women suffer the highest risk of loss by abortion. How can the dream survive if we murder the children,” said Evangelist Alveda King.

“Gabrielle Union, Tracee Elliss Ross and Uzo Aduba are Planned Parenthood’s Ministers of Propaganda paid to ensure Georgia’s Black abortion rate remains at 62% or higher. Their absence from this state is welcomed since their presence and propaganda aids Planned Parenthood’s Negro Project’s genocide,” said Catherine Davis.

“So many children are denied their most basic human right – the right to life, with black babies topping the abortion list. Their civil rights trampled, their precious little bodies discarded like dung. What about the dream Dr. King so courageously worked for, marched for and ultimately died for? Sadly, when he died much of the ‘dream’ died with him but that’s not okay. We must revitalize the dream — for the very lives of all God’s children,” added Day Gardner.

“For decades, Planned Parenthood’s slick advertising has promoted the genocide against communities of color. They target our children for death, and use Gabrielle Union, Tracee Elliss Ross And Uzo Aduba to convince women to hate their children and kill them.” Denise Walker continued, “These women are not leaders – they are executioners. Shame on them for hating Black, Latina and Asian children!”

“So you legalized infanticide and then you legalized marijuana to drug us so we’ll forget about killing our babies. #GodisLife,” added Angela King.

“The black African seed that survived the slave trade, the trans-Atlantic passage and 400 years of slavery, lynching, and Jim Crow has been surrendered to the abortionist. The black vote, hard won to alleviate suffering, has become an instrument of death for children worldwide as we elect politicians lacking knowledge and basic respect for human life. Under the leadership of Democratic President Bill Clinton these same politicians showed similar disrespect for the liberty of young blacks as they voted to enact federal and state crime laws, Georgia SB440 and SB441, supporting mass incarceration that promised to keep blacks locked up beyond the age of reproduction, supporting the racist eugenicist ‘plan for peaceful genocide.’ Jesus Christ substitutes Himself for the ‘least of these,’ none less than the unborn or the prisoner, to insure ‘justice for all!’ Black lives matter, but ‘the souls of black folks’ matter more! Let’s come together with the God’s People’s Agenda and ponder the question: What constitutes human suffering and how can it be alleviated?” said Dr. Loretto Grier Cudjoe.

“As a child conceived in rape, it bothers me that it’s acceptable to sacrifice children like me for the sins of their fathers. Abortion is the #1 cause of death in the Black Community. For these misguided Black American female entertainers to promote the destruction of their own race is unconscionable,” concluded Lori Hoye.

“I had been like a gentle lamb led to the slaughter; I did not realize that they had plotted against me, saying, ‘Let us destroy the tree and its fruit; let us cut [them] off from the land of the living, that their names be remembered no more.’” Jeremiah 11:19

Fr. Pavone presides over service to name babies found in Philadelphia clinic.

STATEN ISLAND, NY – Father Frank Pavone, National Director of Priests for Life, today presided over a service to give names to the 45 babies whose bodies were found in the West Philadelphia abortion clinic of accused murderer Kermit Gosnell.

“People have names, people deserve names,” Father Pavone said during the 30-minute service in the chapel of Priests for Life headquarters. “The name expresses the person. The name recognizes that there is a person there.”

But there was no such recognition for the babies whose remains were found in milk jugs, orange juice cartons and litter boxes.

“Who are these children, and whose are these children,” Father Pavone asked. “Are they medical waste or are they our brothers and sisters?”

Father Pavone said the nearly two-month-long trial, regardless of its outcome, goes to the very core of the abortion debate.

“What was not in dispute in that courtroom is that these were living children whose hearts were stopped,” he said. “Hearts were beating, and hearts were stopped.” Four of the babies were 22 weeks’ gestation or beyond, he noted, with heartbeats that could “be heard with a simple stethoscope.”

During the service, Priests for Life staffers and volunteers walked in procession to the chapel’s altar, carrying certificates with a name for each child. The babies whose deaths have been part of the trial record, Baby A through Baby G, were named first: Baby Adam, aborted at seven and a half months; Baby Michael, killed at 28 weeks; Baby Alex, breathed for 20 minutes after delivery; Baby Chris, delivered into a toilet and seen swimming there; Baby Andy, who was heard to whine, and Baby Lou, whose leg moved after being delivered.

To see the full list of names, go to www.PriestsforLife.org/library/4620-naming-the-gosnell-babies

“It is our honor to honor you with your name,” Father Pavone said after each child had been named.

The service also called for prayers and healing for the parents of the aborted children.

“Their parents may have aborted them in an episode of fear and despair… We embrace them, too. We acknowledge their humanity. They, too, are our brothers and sisters.”

These parents, he said, could benefit from a healing program like Rachel’s Vineyard, which specializes in helping post-abortive women and men.

Father Pavone has asked permission of the Philadelphia Medical Examiner to be allowed to give the babies a proper funeral and burial once the trial reaches its conclusion. That request is still pending, and the medical examiner has said it is under consideration.

Audio and video of the baby-naming service will be available at PriestsforLife.org

Gosnell Is One Of A Kind?

Wednesday, May 1st, 2013

Flush It

That’s what abortion proponents are saying, that “Gosnell is one of a kind” and that’s what they want you to think.

At first the abortion lobby was all too content to keep any information regarding late-term abortionist Kermit Gosnell’s murder trial out of the public arena. And now that news agencies are beginning to report on the case, they are all too eager to speak to the media to spin their deceitful lies and display their pseudo concern for the real victims, the mothers and babies.

In a recent Reuters article, Eric Ferrero, a spokesman for the Planned Parenthood Federation of America said that “Gosnell ran a criminal enterprise, not a healthcare facility, and should be punished to the fullest extent of the law.”

What Ferrero fails to mention is that the local Planned Parenthood of Southwest Pennsylvania knew about the problems at the Gosnell clinic because women would go to Planned Parenthood after visiting Gosnell and complain about the condition there as reported by LifeNews.

Ilyse Hogue, the president of NARAL Pro-Choice America said, “This is a peek into the back-alley days, the pre-Roe v. Wade days. It’s what too many women experienced when we didn’t provide access to safe and clean abortion services,” Hogue said, referring to the landmark Supreme Court ruling in 1973 that struck down state laws restricting abortion.

The only problem with Houge’s logic is that it is happing now, in 2013, 40 years after Roe v. Wade was passed and abortions are now supposed to be safe and rare, neither of which is true.

A newly published article by Operation Rescue chronicles “four 911 calls placed from a single Planned Parenthood in Orange, California, three of which were made on the same day, seeking emergency transport for patients suffering complications from an abortion and one employee experiencing chest pain.” (Complete with video)

And let’s not forget the Planned Parenthood in Chicago late last year that let a patient, Tonya Reaves, bleed for 5 hours before calling for an ambulance and transporting her to a hospital where she later died. Prior to her death, the hospital also had to perform another abortion because Planned Parenthood failed to remove the baby completely during their initial procedure.

Earlier this year late-term abortionist LeRoy Carhart killed Jennifer Morbelli who went in for what she thought was a safe abortion. She ended up dead because Carhart’s abortion clinic tells their patients not to go to an emergency room if they experience complications during the two day procedure or after the abortion. And the number they are given for an emergency is for a horse farm, another business that Carhart owns. And furthermore, Jennifer is not the first patient Carhart has killed.

These are but a few of the horror stories you can find by doing a simple Google search on botched abortions.

No, abortions are not safe, nor are they rare; and the fact that Gosnell took action to make sure the babies did die if they survived the procedure is also not rare. The only thing that is rare is that he got caught.

Many in the abortion industry espouse that if the baby was supposed to die during the abortion procedure then it’s perfectly fine if the baby is killed or allowed to die after he/she survives the procedure. That is straight from the mouth of Planned Parenthood lobbyist Alisa LaPolt Snow who was testifying against born-alive infants protection act in Florida. Cecile Richards never spoke out about Snow’s comments. Florida Alliance of Planned Parenthood Affiliates did release a statement attempting to clarify their position stating that they “would provide “appropriate care” to both the woman and the infant.” But who knows what “appropriate care” means? Let’s see what it means to two other abortion facilities.

LiveAction.org just recently released two undercover videos that show two abortion facilities telling an undercover pregnant mother what they would do if the baby was born alive after an attempted abortion.

One said they would do nothing to help the baby survive which is in violation of the federal Born Alive Infant s Protection Act. The other went as far as to tell the woman that if the baby was born alive at home that she should “flush it” [down the toilet.]

Gosnell’s is certainly not the only one. He’s not an outlier. He’s not unusual in the abortion industry.

He’s just the only one with high visibility who’s been caught and prosecuted thus far. There is documentation of so many others. What will happen to them remains to be seen. Will government agencies continue to ignore the warning signs? Will they continue to ignore laws that are already in place in many states? Will they refuse to enforce inspection requirements?

Another contention being advocated by the abortion industry is that if we only had fewer restrictions women wouldn’t have to turn to someone like Gosnell. Other than the fact that that’s an absurd notion on its face, the abortion industry is already pretty much self-regulated. The situation with Gosnell occurred because the laws were not enforced and Gosnell was left to self-regulate himself.

Women went to Gosnell because he was known to do abortions past the legal limit. Women were referred to him by other abortion providers because they knew this. What Planned Parenthood and others would have us believe is that if they lifted the gestation limit on abortion to say 35 weeks 6 days then everything would be fine.

I think President Obama said it best when he said, [and I’m paraphrasing here], we’d still be thinking about tens of thousands of people, women, children, who’ve been killed by a regime that’s more concerned about staying in power than it is about the well-being of the people. This is from his press conference on April 30, 2013 and he was talking about Syria and whether they had used chemical weapons or not. But he needs to have similar sentiments about Planned Parenthood and the abortion industry except he would have had to change the word “thousands” to “millions.”

Alveda Day and other pro-life leaders

I’m with a PFL TEAM at the murder trial for abortionist Kermit Gosnell in Philadelphia, PA. See photo with Day Gardner and other pro-life leaders. [sorry about the quality]

The trial was postponed because the defense attorney is sick. If the attorney is able to work tomorrow I will be here reporting on the proceedings.

Make sure to follow on FB and Twitter for updates. In the meantime read this great blog from my co-worker Kevin Burke, MSS/LSW who offers a unique perspective that you aren’t seeing anyone else report.

Kevin Burke is a licensed social worker, Co-Founder of Rachel’s Vineyard Ministries and a Pastoral Associate of Priests for Life. He is a graduate of The Bryn Mawr Graduate School of Social Work.

Abandon Hope All Ye Who Enter Here: A Descent Into Hell and Trauma at the Gosnell Trial

I spent April 18th 2013 inside a Philadelphia Courtroom with the notorious late term abortionist Kermit Gosnell along with lawyers, jurors, court personnel and witness Kareena Cross who worked at Gosnell’s “medical center.” Ms Cross presented the majority of the testimony of that day.

Based on that experience, I am recommending that a warning banner be posted above the entrance to the courtroom with the chilling words the poet Dante placed at the entrance to the gates of Hell in his epic Divine Comedy…Abandon Hope All Ye Who Enter Here. Dante’s epitaph would also have been well placed at the entrance to the Gosnell Women’s Medical Center in West Philadelphia as an impassioned plea to dissuade all the unfortunate mothers and their unborn children from entering this place of darkness.

To call Gosnell’s abortion business a medical center is like . . .

Appropriate Care: What’s In A Word?

Wednesday, April 10th, 2013

ambulance_pp-240x221
I always tell my children that it’s very important to choose your words wisely because language is very important. The use of a certain word instead of a different word can send someone a very different message or leave some message open for interpretation.

A recent video that went viral this past week has a Planned Parenthood lobbyist, Alisa LaPolt Snow, advocating for post-birth abortion. When asked by Chairman Boyd: “So, um, it is just really hard for me to even ask you this question because I’m almost in disbelief. If a baby is born on a table as a result of a botched abortion, what would Planned Parenthood want to have happen to that child that is struggling for life?”

Miss Snow [answered] (PP): “Um, well, we believe that any decision is made should be left up to the woman, her family, and the physician.”

She did not choose her words wisely because it sent the Florida lawmakers into disbelief at Planned Parenthood’s stance of the care that should be given to a child that is born alive after a botched abortion; or did she, which would make the Florida lawmaker’s shock and disbelief an appropriate response.

After this video went viral, outraged pro-lifers called for Planned Parenthood to condemn Miss Snow’s comments. Planned Parenthood’s response? “. . . of course Planned Parenthood would provide appropriate care to both the woman and the infant.”

“Appropriate care?” Again, words chosen very carefully I’m sure. A few seconds earlier, “appropriate care” was trying to kill the infant. And now, seconds later, with a live baby on the table, with both the doctor and the mother wanting (and wishing) that that baby was dead, we’re supposed to want the baby to receive “appropriate care” from this doctor? The mother, for whatever reasons she sought out the abortion in the first place, and the doctor, because he botched the abortion and didn’t do his ‘job’ right, should not be trusted with this baby’s life.

Why didn’t Planned Parenthood’s statement say “. . . of course Planned Parenthood would do everything to ensure the survival of the baby.”

Words – they are very important and telling.
