NEW YORK, NY — Father Frank Pavone, National Director of Priests for Life, issued the following statement today regarding the publication of the Concluding Observations by the United Nations Committee on the Rights of the Child (CRC) following review of the report submitted by the Holy See. The observations were highly critical of the Church’s moral teachings on abortion, contraception and homosexuality.

Father Pavone said: “It’s outrageous that a UN committee that is supposed to safeguard the rights of children is instructing the Holy See that it must change Canon Law in order to determine the circumstances under which the lives of preborn children can be destroyed in abortion.

“Abortion is a death sentence to children and can never be condoned.”

He continued: “The arrogance displayed by those who crafted this document is equal only to their ignorance and failure to understand that the Holy See is unwavering as it upholds the dignity of all life from conception to natural death.

“The comments issued by this UN committee on abortion, contraception for youth and the promotion of homosexuality reveal the growing radicalization of UN treaty bodies. This assault on the basic principles of the Holy See and the Catholic Church will hopefully serve as a wake-up call to faithful Catholics around the world who have not yet realized the great struggles for life and family taking place at the United Nations.”

As the Marriage Battle Rages, Let Mercy Prevail

Tuesday, February 4th, 2014

“When a moral person is confronted with contempt, immorality, disloyalty, or dishonesty, he is so repulsed by the offense that he turns away and in despair closes his heart to the offender. But the miracle of the redemptive reality of God is that the worst and vilest offender can never exhaust the depths of God’s love.” –C. S. Lewis

Love, Marriage and Life should be a package; as in man meets woman, they fall in love, marry and have children. That’s an ideal, designed by God.

In the paradise of Eden, God first formed Man, then formed his mate and presented her to him. Woah! Love at first sight. Man and (Wo)Man. By their Holy Union they became our ancestors, the first “human parents; birthing the original “human family.” One man and one woman; married by God.

Due to outside influences and our original ancestors’ broken relationship with God, things became tangled up after that and have been for a long time. Admittedly while the marriage model was never broken, it has been misunderstood, bruised, sometimes tarnished and often challenged. As a result, in the 21st Century, we are teetering on a civil war over human sexuality issues.

A lot of blood has been shed in the aftermath of the war over the human family; animal blood sacrifices, innocent human blood (abortions). God help us please. Teach us to plead the sacred Blood of Jesus!

There is too much accusing and too little truth and mercy abroad in this present battle. Let us consider our frail humanity and approach each other with fear of judgment, pleading for mercy.

“For judgment is without mercy to one who has shown no mercy. Mercy triumphs over judgment.” (James 2:13 ESV)

“Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.”(Hebrews 4:16 ESV)

We need not only to know the truth; we need to help people to see and know the truth.

May God grant MERCY and deliverance to all in this matter of Holy Matrimony and human sexuality. Mercy does not condone the sexual behaviors at issue. Mercy shares the truth of God’s Word in Agape Love. Mercy loves those who are without understanding of His divine grace and love for the accused and the accusers.

“For all have sinned and fallen short of God’s glory.” ALL. It’s sadly hypocritical to publicly proclaim that “God hates the sin but loves the sinner”; while all the time we secretly sneer and use ugly names to brand others.

On the other hand, it’s critically intolerant to bad mouth Bible believers and deny our Constitutional Rights for holding to our standards of faith while insisting that we be tolerant of contrasting views.

Sin is real, repentance is a gift. May we all be free to “go and sin no more.” Let us deliver truth that shines light with a heart to bring liberty as part of the judgment process.

Alveda King On Racism, Reproductive Genocide & Sexual Perversion

Dr. Alveda King to Pope, Clergy, World Leaders and Humanity at Large – Erase and Replace: Hate the sin, love the sinner

Atlanta, GA – In the wake of the Martin/Zimmerman tragedy, in the face of the looming human sexuality debate, on the wings of the promised 50th Anniversary Celebration of the historical “March on Washington” and “I Have a Dream” speech by her famous uncle Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., Dr. Alveda King, Director of African American Outreach, Priests for Life, has a word of encouragement for Pope Francis and all world leaders and humanity at large:

“Yes, we are facing difficult days. Yet there is hope ahead. Have faith and love for every member of the human race. It is time to hate the sin and love the sinner. We can set the example with personal and communal repentance, revival, restoration, rebuilding, recovery and renewal.”

For Alveda King, “it’s all about redemption.” Her uncle once said: “We must discover the power of love, the power – the redemptive power of love. And when we discover that we will be able to make of this old world a new world. We will be able to make men better. Love is the only way.”

Looking forward his niece calls for “an eraser to set the record straight. Erase the old ways and let our minds be renewed. Replace the word tolerance with the expression of genuine compassion. Override judgment with mercy and Divine Justice.”

Known for her bold platforms on behalf of the unborn and natural life and family, she explains: “Somehow we have forgotten or perhaps never known the purpose for human life on this planet. The Bible warns us of the challenges of uncontrollable lust unleashed by human sexuality gone amuck. Generally people involved in sexual activity springing from fornication, adultery and even same sex liaisons do not experience the lasting fulfillment that monogamous heterosexual couples do. This is why it is written:

“Matthew 19: 4 “Haven’t you read the Scriptures?” Jesus asked. “From the beginning ‘God made them male and female… This explains why a man leaves his father and mother and is joined (sexually) to his wife, and the two are united into one… Divorce was not what God had originally intended. 10 Jesus’ disciples then said to him, “If this is the case, it is better not to marry!”

“Yet in 1 Corinthians 7:8, it is written that it is better to marry than to burn with lust.”

“Again Jesus also goes as far as to speak to those who are either born without a sexual desire for members of the opposite sex; forced into an alternate lifestyle or choose a life without sexual desire for someone of the opposite sex.

“Matthew 19:11: 11 “Not everyone can accept this statement,” Jesus said; “only those whom God helps. 12 Some are born as eunuchs, some have been made eunuchs by others, and some choose not to marry for the sake of the Kingdom of Heaven. Let anyone accept this who can.” (In the original translation the term eunuch includes castration and other limiting factors surrounding heterosexual sexual unions.)

“In error many have misunderstood these sayings to mean that God is in favor of sexual relationships that interrupt His original plan for procreativity. We forget that God doesn’t create sin, sickness and unnatural human circumstances. If someone is born a certain way, say with an infirmity, a misshapen limb, an unnatural sexual desire — that does not mean that God desired for them to be born that way. That’s why John 3:16 is so important.”

“For God so loved the world that He gave his only begotten Son, so that all who believe in Jesus will have eternal life.”

Lamenting over the state of affairs, Alveda says: “Sadly, many have not known of or accepted the precious gift of Jesus and His blood which corrects and eliminates human sin and sadness. Even sadder is that those who have accepted this gift are not willing and humble enough to share this gift with this world, because to share it we must be repentant, transparent and nonjudgmental.”

three headed monster Revised2Alveda insists that “we are dealing with a three headed monster with racism as the first head. Racism is a sin, because it is a deception in that we are not separate races. We are all of one blood.”

“And hath made of one blood all nations of men for to dwell on all the face of the earth…” Acts 17:26

“We must learn to live together as brothers or perish as fools.” MLK

“The second head of the monster is reproductive genocide. The directive to be fruitful and multiply is a blessing not the curse reflected in the error of artificial and harmful contraceptives and abortion. There are healthy options such as abstinence and natural family planning that do not involve killing women and children.
“The third head is sexual perversion with all of its trappings.

“Somehow we tiptoe around the obvious, never genuinely seeking to separate the sinner from the sin. We can love the one and hate the other.”
“Jude 21 keep yourselves in the love of God, waiting for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ that leads to eternal life. 22 And have mercy on those who doubt; 23 save others by snatching them out of the fire; to others show mercy with fear, hating even the garment stained by the flesh.”
“For me, life is a journey and the Bible is my roadmap,” Alveda continues. “The paths and trails have pitfalls, but as long as the light of the glorious Gospel shines, we can see. We may stumble, but we don’t go over a cliff because God’s love, His Son’s blood and His Holy Spirit all keep us safe.”

Making an urgent appeal for unity, Alveda urges: “Now is the time to erase fear, hatred and strife. Time is short so we must be bold. Change and tolerance are steps along the way, but it will take transformation and compassion to get us across the finish line.

“My parents Rev. A. D. King and Mrs. Naomi King joined Uncle M. L. and the hundreds of thousands in Washington, DC 50 years ago. He had a prayer on his lips and a dream in his heart. As we approach the 50th Anniversary of The March on Washington, I plan to observe August 28th with members of my family, friends and the world while praying in my heart that we will all come away transformed by God’s love.”

More On The Girl Scouts – A Follow-Up

Thursday, March 14th, 2013

Girl-Scouts-300x256This article was sent to me by another pro-lifer. It has a lot of good information that again gives me reason for caution when dealing with the Girls Scouts. As Edmund Burke said, “All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing.” The abortion industry is welcome in the Girl Scouts organization and even though they should know better, the Girl Scouts are allowing the abortion/contraceptives industry’s ugly and intrusive presence. In their own words, the Girl Scouts “Does not take a position” on sexuality, birth control, or abortion. By not taking a position, they are allowing others to define their agendas. Parents should rise up and demand that so called friends of our daughters stop pretending to help girls while they are destroying them.

Article by Mary Hasson
March 11, 2013

The Girl Scouts’ Law insists that Girl Scouts be “responsible for what I say and do.” When it comes to abortion, however, the Girl Scouts USA “says” the magic words that keep pro-life members in the fold (i.e. that Girl Scouts “does not take a position” on sexuality, birth control, or abortion).

What they “do” behind the scenes is another story.

GSUSA’s hefty brand power—and funding—continue to fuel the pro-abortion advocacy of the World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts (“WAGGGS”). And the Girl Scouts have refused once again to take responsibility for that.

I recently exchanged emails with two Girl Scouts USA spokespersons, Joshua Ackley and Michelle Tompkins, asking them to clarify the Girl Scouts’ “no position” stance in light of WAGGGS’ leadership on the pro-abortion Bali Global Youth Forum Declaration (December, 2012). Their responses highlight GSUSA’s corporate unwillingness to take any actions to distance themselves from WAGGGS’ global advocacy for youth “sexual rights” and abortion—even though WAGGGS claims to speak for all its members, including GSUSA.

First, realize how radical the Bali Youth Declaration really is: it asserts “sexual rights” for youth (including 10 year-olds) on nearly every page and demands, over a dozen times, youth access to “abortion” or “reproductive rights” and services. It marginalizes families—decrying parental consent and “age of consent” restrictions in sexual and reproductive matters—and casts religious objections to LBGT lifestyles as “religious intolerance.” Not surprisingly, the pro-abortionchorus embraces the Declaration.

There’s more to know about the Bali Declaration, but what’s most relevant here are the architects behind its design.

The Declaration reflects the handiwork of the Global Youth Forum’s International Steering Committee, a group stacked with abortion providers and abortion-advocacy groups, such as the International Planned Parenthood Federation (IPPF) and the Youth Coalition.

Who else’s fingerprints are all over the Declaration? WAGGGS.

WAGGGS was heavily invested in formulating the Declaration. Its leaders, including WAGGGS’ Senior Advocacy Coordinator, not only served on the Forum’s Steering Committee, but also worked for six months on the Taskforcesthat shaped the conference agenda, the resulting Declaration, and follow-up activities. At the Bali summit, WAGGGS representatives facilitated breakout sessions and presented youth “recommendations” to the plenary sessions. Now WAGGGS promotes the Declaration and advocates for its implementation.

So that leaves the Girl Scouts with a problem.

In light of their officially neutral position on abortion, it should have been a no-brainer for the Girl Scouts to repudiate the radical, pro-abortion Bali Declaration. Or at least to clarify that WAGGGS’ does not speak for GSUSA when it advocates on sexual and reproductive matters, including the Bali Declaration.

GSUSA refused to do either.

Thank God Crystal Kelley Chose Life, But Can We Talk?

Crystal Kelley

“Choose life, so that you and your descendants might live!” – Deutoronomy 30:19

In VitroCrystal Kelley was a surrogate mother for a couple who wanted to have another child, their fourth. She entered into a contract to carry the couple’s baby for $22,000. When it was discovered that there were medical problems with the pregnancy, the parents offered Crystal $10,000 to terminate the pregnancy (have an abortion).

The temptation of lots of money to a single mother almost caused Crystal to make a deadly decision for the baby. When the parents refused her counteroffer of $15,000, Crystal was relieved as she knew she could not abort the baby growing inside her in opposition to the insistence of the parents.

As reported by CNN, “They said they didn’t want to bring a baby into the world only for that child to suffer,” Kelley said. “They said I should try to be God-like and have mercy on the child and let her go. I told them it wasn’t their decision to play God.”

First of all, let’s be very clear on this point. Being “God-like” would not mean killing a baby. If that is what God would do He would not have sent His Son, Jesus, into the world to suffer and die on the cross for our sins in order that we may be saved. Likewise, we are called to join our suffering with Christ’s for the salvation of souls, not eliminating the suffering by killing each other.

Crystal was right to say that it wasn’t the parents’ decision to play God. Life is for God to create and to take and no one else’s.

But the real problem in this surrogacy debate begins before the contract is signed. Like the abortion debate, although the choice whether to choose life or death is vital, the real problem begins before the pregnancy.

Both examples above involve seeking our own wills and not God’s will. If we as a people would choose to follow God’s design we would make different choices.

When we begin to “play God” we get ourselves into a whole lot of trouble as is evident in our culture today. We believe we know what is better for us than God does. The problem is that God acts out of agape love while we act out of selfishness.

God’s designs is that life would enter the world through conjugal love. Conjugal love has two components; procreative and unitive. To go against either is to go against God’s design.

We go against God’s design for procreative conjugal love when we choose to use contraception. Instead of following God’s design for love and marriage, abstaining from sex until we get married and then being responsible through natural family planning, we follow our desires and self-gratification and engage in sex, sometimes casually, sometimes with multiple partners, all the while contracepting in order to avoid the natural consequences of our action. And when the contraceptives fail, as is often the case, we further complicate the situation by killing the life which God created, again turning away from God’s will. That life that we are now trying to abort was not created accidentally by God but is a part of God’s design. But we know better, don’t we?

With surrogacy we want to have a child so bad that is our own that we go to any measure to make that happen. But are we thinking about ourselves or are we thinking about the baby. In the perfect surrogacy situation, the parents each contribute their 23 chromosomes and they are implanted into the surrogate and with any luck, God will permit life to be created. This leaves out the unitive aspect of conjugal love. Additionally, I can think of a host of problems that could arise from the whole process, like the surrogate falling in love with the baby she feels kicking and moving in her womb; like the parents having marital problems and divorcing while the surrogate is still pregnant; like the surrogate becoming greedy and demanding more money to continue the pregnancy; and so on.

Whether you think abortion is right or wrong; whether you think surrogacy is right or wrong, I believe we all are, as a whole, good honest people trying to live our lives the best we can; the best we know how. In doing so, sometimes our compassion is misplaced. Like the parents of the baby in the surrogate story, I believe they really wanted to be compassionate to their baby girl whom “they didn’t want to bring . . . into the world only for that child to suffer.”

Life is difficult and we have many difficult decisions to make throughout our lifetime. Thank God He left us a manual to follow when we don’t know what to do. Really, say, “Thank you God for giving us your Word, the Bible.” Through the Bible we can do the right thing even when our emotions are telling us to do something different.

I applaud Crystal Kelley for defending the life within her womb. It took courage to stand up for that life and trust that she would find adoptive parents willing to care for a medically fragile baby.

I also applaud all the other pro-life warriors who don’t make the headlines but are out there just the same on the frontlines fighting for unborn babies, some medically fragile, some not.

And I thank God for the Bible which gives me the courage to speak up for those that cannot speak for themselves.

When will humans ever learn? Movies like Gattaca cleverly depict the fallacies of gene pooling.

To God be the glory!

Truth for Christmas

Wednesday, December 19th, 2012

In today’s world of political correctness and culture of diversity and tolerance people are reluctant or afraid to speak the truth for fear of offending someone or being labeled as racist, bigot, or worse.

But I say that speaking the truth in love is the kindest way to bless your family, friends, neighbors and coworkers. Mind you, speak truth to power in love, not judgment. To do anything less is to hide the light of truth under a basket. As Scripture says, “nor does anyone light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on the lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. Let your light shine before men in such a way that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven.” Matthew 5:15-16

One good example if this is a young lady named Stephanie whom we applaud for choosing life in the face of adversity. Please watch her video.

We are grateful for Stephanie’s courage for choosing life for Kaiya and for her desire to be a good mother to her children and niece. This is commendable, especially considering the added burden of raising children as a single mother.

In the spirit of love I have to say that although choosing life is a great thing, we must address the underlying issue of so many unplanned pregnancies outside of traditional marriage; and dare I say not just unplanned pregnancies. In striving for holiness we must seek to follow God’s design for humanity with respect to chastity. In God’s love of humanity, He wishes to bless us, not punish us. But in our arrogance, many have turned away from Him and rejected his blessings.

The permissiveness of today’s culture leads many to choose to follow their selfish self-gratifying feelings instead of follow God’s commandments. Our culture of just do it if it feels good has led to the slaughter of over 55 million innocent lives all in the name of “choice.” First by choosing to engage in sexual activities that can lead to pregnancy, and then by choosing to end the life that resulted from that first choice.

I know that nobody is perfect and all (including me) have sinned and fallen short of God’s glory. Yet that doesn’t mean that we are not supposed to be striving for the highest bar possible. God set the bar when he instructed Moses on what to say to the congregation of the sons of Israel. God sad to tell them, “You shall be holy, for I the Lord your God am holy.” Leviticus 19:2 Trust me, I’m always in need of God’s mercy and grace.

If we are to ever be in God’s good grace, we need to repent of our sins and ask for his forgiveness. Thank God for Jesus!

“if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land. .” 2 Chronicles 7:14

So we need to pray for mercy; start making more life affirming choices, loving our neighbors as ourselves. Let’s help others to choose life; let’s give people reasons to want to choose to be chaste; we need to teach the benefits of natural biblical marriage; let’s sincerely demonstrate the love of God. And finally, since so many people are bringing everything out of the closet and out in the open, let’s encourage others to be open to the Gospel of Jesus.

A Can of Worms: Here She Goes Again!

Tuesday, November 27th, 2012

Okay, I’m about to do it again. Deal with some very sensitive topics. A few days ago, the Nickelodeon Channel ran a show that introduced the vocabulary word “embrace” for the day, depicting what appeared to be two males in a very fond “embrace.” To some, the embrace may have appeared romantic, to some it seemed to be offensive and or shocking.

Several outraged non-homophobic mothers have had a lot to say about this seemingly “new” development; although I would suggest that perhaps such a promotion could have been popular in Sodom and Gomorrah years ago.

However, while this is definitely a cause for some deep attention from parents, I find myself in some other deep discussions about – you guessed it – abortion and homosexual marriage!

Now please let me explain that contrary to some public opinion, I am not homophobic and I am not against women’s rights. So this is not a diatribe about attacking people for their womb decisions and sexual preferences.

Yet, as a person who struggles from obesity, and have to hear all the time: “She must like to be fat.” Or from sympathizers who also don’t get it: “God must have wanted her to be fat.” Well folks, as a young woman, I took a lot of birth control chemicals and surgical procedures to keep from having babies, yes – artificial contraceptives and abortions – that subsequently trashed my metabolism and adrenal system. Other stressful factors have contributed to these conditions over the years, so as a result, at 62 years of age, I am struggling with my weight, and no, I don’t want to be fat. And no, God didn’t make me fat. Evil forces as old as the Garden of Eden tricked me into certain behaviors and decisions that have impacted my weight. This, coupled with some DNA and RNA issues have me depending on God to keep me healed and healthy. GOD is so good.

Now the Bible says that gluttons will not make it into Heaven. The Bible doesn’t say that fat people won’t make it to Heaven, but that gluttons won’t. Now bear in mind, there are skinny gluttons and fat gluttons. We can be gluttons for all kinds of things, including food. Thank goodness, I am delivered from gluttony, and am waiting for my body to get the memo. Honest to goodness. So I am looking forward to going to Heaven. Is God so mean that HE (of course GOD isn’t really HE because GOD is a Spirit and in the Spirit there are no males and females); doesn’t want fat people in Heaven? No — of course not. Once we get there the fat and every other human issue will go away anyway. It isn’t the flesh but the heart, soul and spirit that have to get it right before we go there.

So, does that mean that the same is true for someone who struggles for, say, a taste of homosexual passion in their flesh? Absolutely! GOD isn’t going to keep anyone out of Heaven no matter what their physical situations are. Now, we must ask this question; remember what some people think about being fat. Are we making assumptions about homosexual people? Like: “They must want to be homosexual.” Or, “GOD made them that way.” “Why would two men or two women want to get married in the first place?” Well, actually, many humans want to experience love, and some people do confuse love with sex. GOD is LOVE, and we are made in GOD’s image. If we don’t have a genuine relationship with our Creator and if we have some of the facts confused, we may fall victim to certain decisions and issues that may bear some search for understanding. For instance, if two men or two women are in a homosexual life style, it may not be too hard for them to desire to take the next step and try or want to get married.

Now, let’s set the record straight. Some people may be born with or acquire certain distinct characteristics along the way in life. Like, why do some people have high blood pressure, or diabetes, or why are some people nymphomaniacs? Why do some people get strung out on drugs, or alcohol or other addicting substances? Why do some people have abortions, or commit rape or all types of things that we humans do. Is GOD the author of these types of situations, or is the origin some other source? Why do some people fall victim to these situations and some don’t? Could it be that there is a “great awakening” that needs to happen?

In the first place, God doesn’t make people sick. Also God doesn’t make people do any of the things mentioned above. And actually, GOD loves us so much that GOD doesn’t want us to experience any of the things mentioned here, and wants to help us prevent other things that are pretty much alien to many people’s awareness.

What many of us do not like to consider is that sin and sickness are related. That’s why Jesus once told a sick person, “Your sins are forgiven. Be healed.” Jesus also told a very sexually promiscuous woman who was caught in the act, “Woman, your sins are forgiven. Go and sin no more.” When people are set free from both or either sin or sickness, we have a lot to say about it.

In the movie AMAZING GRACE, the ex-slave trader shares his testimony of having sold human flesh, and then found forgiveness from GOD causing him to write the song of the same title. Read the story of Wilbur Wilberforce, William Penn and John Newton. GOD didn’t want John Newton to sell slaves, and GOD blessed him to stop.

GOD doesn’t want us aborting our babies, and GOD will help us to stop. GOD wants us to be sexually whole and complete without any harm or sadness to our bodies, souls and spirits. Please let me change the subject for a minute. I know women who have full beards, and men who have breasts. Sometimes people don’t understand these physical instances, and they wonder if they should have been born with a more clear distinction of whether they are male or female. Again, this is something that happened back in times as old as the Garden of Eden when a serpent sneaked in and jumbled up a lot of things, including DNA and RNA. Thank goodness that JESUS came to set the record straight and set the captives free!

I know this is a long blog, so please tune in for tomorrows blog so you can read my CREATION PARABLE. God bless you!

Take Another Look, and Another, Before It’s Too Late…

Monday, September 17th, 2012

“Woe to those who call evil good and good evil, who put darkness for light and light for darkness, who put bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter.” – Isaiah 5:20

The Bible warns us to not do evil and call it good and yet it’s been happening for all of mankind. There are probably many things that the above passage of the Bible can refer to but I want to talk about human sexuality, traditional procreative marriage, and the results of failing to adhere to God’s plan for humankind.

Back in the 60s the sexual revolution began which changed the way many people view sex, marriage, and contraceptives. Was this the beginning of our problems? Not by any stretch of the imagination. Remember, Margaret Sanger began the Birth Control League about 100 years ago which later became Planned Parenthood. She was a eugenicist who wanted to control what she viewed as inferior races, mainly the Black Nation. She wanted to use sterilization and birth control pills as a means of accomplishing her eugenic philosophy.

The use of birth control fueled promiscuity because people could have sex without the consequences of pregnancy. Soon casual or recreational sex became accepted by our society.

Following the acceptance of “free love” which was actually casual sex, the natural progression was for men to have sex with other men and women to have sex with other women. And that too is now being accepted by many in our society.

This misplaced compassion to say that people should be able to love whoever they want is a stumbling block; not taking into account what God said about homosexual relations. And now many like the President of the United States and NAACP have come out in support of homosexual marriage. Same-sex marriage is anti-natural marriage and procreation. Homosexual couples cannot procreate. They cannot obey God’s command to “be fruitful and multiply.”

The next step will be for those who want to live in polygamist relationships to demand their rights to do so. Oh yeah, I forgot, that’s beginning to happen already. Recently in Sao Paulo, Brazil a notary has accepted a civil union between three people. This has sparked a controversy for now. Soon it too will be accepted by our society and they will be fighting for their right to get married.

In a recent movie, Savages, the main actors, two men and a woman, were in a sexual relationship. In the trailer, after introducing the two men she proclaims, “and yes, I’m with both of them.”

We are sliding down a slippery slope and there seems to be no end in sight. We need to find a way to stop the descent before there is no way to turn back, before we self-destruct. God is the answer. He, and only He, is able to help us to return to being a moral society. Yes there will always be some element of sin in our society as humans have a propensity towards sinning but as a whole people can make good moral decisions with the help from God.

Married Bishop advocating for abortion of his baby so that he can be promoted? Married Black preacher giving women HIV? What does the Bible say?

Tuesday, September 11th, 2012

Do these unfortunate and embarrassing accounts (married Bishop & married preacher) give us a clue as to why the Church is majorly silent on abortion and homosexual marriage? Praise God for standard bearers who fear God and not man. How do we break the power of the devil on this thing? Love never fails, and we are not to touch God’s anointed, but even David cried out to God when Saul was persecuting him. I’m wondering if we shouldn’t say or do something like this?

Hold them accountable to the Word of God in love.

The Church – not the Black Church or the White Church, not the Protestant or the Catholic Church (because this stench is rising in many churches) – THE CHURCH is strangely silent while our nation is drowning; choking on the blood of the innocents and dismantling natural marriage one bite at a time. Could it be that the church leaders are embroiled in so many sexual sins, that their voices are stifled by guilt by association?

We recently witnessed a comedic drama at a political convention where people were voting whether to attempt to keep God out of a platform or put God back in the platform. It was such a travesty in that though the majority of voices in the audio voted were yelling no don’t put God back in, the officiating member called the vote a yes, and the word God was returned to the plank. I cautiously say “the word” God because the true and living GOD can’t be bantered around by such shameless antics as we viewed last week.

We know that nobody is perfect, and that all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. So, we are not pointing fingers here. What we must ask ourselves is this: are our Church leaders weakened by fear and guilt of not wanting to reveal their personal battles of the flesh? Is this why so many are silent regarding the issues of sexual perversion and abortion and artificial contraceptives?

Is anyone considering that the political plank advancing homosexual marriage is opening the door for many other types of liaisons that may prove harmful to society as a whole?

There is room at the Cross of Jesus for everyone, and Church leaders are not exempt from the devil’s wiles. Neither are Church leaders exempt from the commandments of GOD and definitely Church leaders (and political leaders we might add) need salvation, repentance and God’s love just like we all do.

This is not a Black/White problem. Remember the misfortunes of say Ted Haggard and Eddie Long? The world was kinder to these two men than was the Church. Are we saying that they shouldn’t be called to accountability? No. But love and mercy overcome judgment. If and when people fall and then repent, they should be restored. Until they repent, they should be removed from positions of authority, but they should not be condemned by accusers who have also sinned and fallen short of God’s grace.

We’re not putting these people on blast here. The media has already done that. We are putting everyone on notice: These are perilous times, and we all need a lot of prayer! Even Paul in the Bible, after admonishing the people for overlooking sexual perversion, came back and told the Church to restore the repentant man so that he would know that God loves even a sinner:

1 Corinthians 5: Expel the Immoral Brother!

It is actually reported that there is sexual immorality among you, and of a kind that does not occur even among pagans: A man has his father’s wife. And you are proud! Shouldn’t you rather have been filled with grief and have put out of your fellowship the man who did this? Even though I am not physically present, I am with you in spirit. And I have already passed judgment on the one who did this, just as if I were present. When you are assembled in the name of our Lord Jesus and I am with you in spirit, and the power of our Lord Jesus is present, hand this man over to Satan, so that the sinful nature may be destroyed and his spirit saved on the day of the Lord.

Forgiveness for the Offender

2 Corinthians 2: If anyone has caused grief, he has not so much grieved me as he has grieved all of you to some extent—not to put it too severely. The punishment inflicted on him by the majority is sufficient. Now instead, you ought to forgive and comfort him, so that he will not be overwhelmed by excessive sorrow. I urge you, therefore, to reaffirm your love for him. Another reason I wrote you was to see if you would stand the test and be obedient in everything. Anyone you forgive, I also forgive. And what I have forgiven—if there was anything to forgive—I have forgiven in the sight of Christ for your sake, in order that Satan might not outwit us. For we are not unaware of his schemes.

What we are after is not eternal damnation, but rather the salvation of those who fall; so we must first rebuke, then once repentance comes, we must forgive, comfort, love and restore. We must rise above the tendency of human nature that holds the accused at arm’s length; to say we forgive but never let the accused forget; to say “I receive you back” but to treat the person like a diseased germ. Self-pious, sanctimonious and inflexible treatment of those who stumble leaves no place for repentance and reconciliation. This is not the ministry of Jesus Christ who had mercy on the woman caught in the act and the woman at the well. The scandal we create by errantly cutting off the offenders from the Church it is no less a scandal created by the penitent sinner in the first place. To errantly remove the offender from all hope of re-entry into the comfort and security of the fellowship of the redeemed community is just as injurious as it is to permit blatant perversion to continue unpunished in the Body of Christ.

All of this would be just too sad if we didn’t have the Name and Blood of Jesus. May God help us all.
