Kings Unite: Reparations and Jubilee Must Include Ending Abortion, Restoring Our Families

Monday, April 1st, 2019

“Don’t just give me a big fish today, teach me how to fish to live and bless my children.” Evangelist Alveda C. King

Evangelist Alveda King, Director of Civil Rights for The Unborn joins her goddaughter Angela Stanton-King, American King Foundation in redefining the current reparations discussion.

“Where the plan for the forty acres and a mule was derailed several decades ago, along with atonement for the past evils of slavery, there is a new deadly agenda, a tremendously heavy additional burden of harm against the Black community that has resulted in the more recent deaths of millions of African Americans; human beings dead by abortion in the 20th and 21st century,” said Evangelist Alveda King.

“These Black lives, Black losses by abortion – of one race/one blood human beings – should matter too. These losses should be included in discussions and any restitution due to the Black community for past and current hurts.”

Meanwhile, in an effort to continue to cull black votes, a liberal movement is promising unsuspecting members of the African American community reparations in the form of cash and checks while secretly planning to use tax dollars connected to the abortion industry to foot the bill.

“While a reparations discussion that is desperately needed to justly realign the resources of the African American community, references to the 40 acres and a mule alone won’t do in 2019. There is so much water under the post slavery bridge, including the harm from the Jim Crow Era, that a revisit to the effort of reparations for American Blacks is overdue,” said Stanton King.

“Today, we need so much more than the big fishy scheme proposed by the liberals. We as African Americans need to know en masse how to fish and to be liberated to ably feed ourselves and our children for a lifetime.”

As such, the massively deceptive $1.5 million per person reparations plan currently touted by the liberal agenda rings hollow. They have people thinking that they will be passing out big checks in payment to absolve racism. However, this is a pie in the sky pipeline of a dream of cash handouts that the liberal media and political machine are dangling before us in the unduly oppressed and emotionally vulnerable Black communities of America.

How is the liberal agenda planning to pay for this genie in their bottle benevolence? You can guess that they won’t be digging into the coffers of those who continue to benefit from the abortion deaths of our children.

In the past, reparations plans for ethnic communities such as the Native Americans, Asians and Jews have been culturally specific, with efforts of righting evils of injustice towards their communities.

These reparations included requirements and conditions for the recipients.

Now, especially because it is so long overdue, Black people need revived hope. Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King’s reference to insufficient funds must now be addressed for Blacks in America and indeed all Americans. There are many imbalances where Blacks in America that are seriously and disproportionately impacted by the absence of these funds: the criminal justice system, the health system, the education system and the economy.

It must however be emphasized that because MLK was a preacher and a prophet during his sojourn here on earth, he would likely advise that our prayers for justice should include a huge dose of Gospel Jubilee in the formula. While human laws will be part of the process, the windows of Heaven must also open for us if justice is to be completely fulfilled; not in a colorblind America. We must put on our glasses and see each other as one-blood human beings.

Prayerful attention is therefore now hereby requested in regards to discussions consideration for a reparations plan for Black America; circa slavery and post slavery America:

1. Enlist the prayers and support of the faith community in this effort.
2. Extend a term limited tax credit to recipients.
3. Extend lines of credit without severe and unfair credit scoring.
4. Ban red lining by zip codes, social security numbers and zoning.
5. Ban unduly burdensome requirements for mortgage qualifications.
6. Award Full College Scholarships for those who want an accredited college degree. There should be no age restrictions.
7. Extend Tax abatements.
8. Wave penalties on compliance and qualifications on obtaining credit and employment for formerly incarcerated returning citizens.
9. Eliminate abortions as part of this process.
10. The above terms must be awarded in total and not parceled out.

America’s Independence Should Be For Everyone

Friday, June 30th, 2017

170630 blog image

July 4, 1776 was a great day in American history; Independence Day! So historically July 4th is a day that is celebrated yearly with family get-togethers, cookouts, parades, watermelon, and fireworks. It was a great day but not for all!

While our nation was liberated from British rule in 1776 there was a class of people, slaves that didn’t enjoy independence along with other Americans until the signing of the Emancipation Proclamation in 1863. Slaves weren’t considered to be persons until then.
Actually, slaves only achieved partial personhood in 1787; and then only because slave owners wanted to use them in order to gain a greater voting power and thus they were counted as three-fifths of a person in the Three-Fifths Compromise. The slaves didn’t enjoy true independence until 1863; and finally on June 19, 1885 Juneteenth Independence Day; a day celebrated in some circles with the same hoopla as many enjoy the Fourth of July.

Another class of Americans, the women suffragettes, waged and in some cases still do wage the battle for equality. Unfortunately all too many still confuse women’s rights with human rights, and many pre-born persons are being discriminated against and killed as a result.

Yet, the celebrations for this year’s 4th of July will go on for most Americans. Still, although African-Americans and women will join in the celebrations, there are still segments of Americans who do not enjoy the same freedom as everyone else; they include pre-born persons and victims of human trafficking in America and around the world.

America can never be truly free until the babies in the womb are free to be born, and all victims of abortion and other crimes against humanity are set free.

In America the unborn are not considered “persons” under the law and therefore they don’t enjoy the protection of the Fourteenth Amendment assuring ‘Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness;” a right the babies could expect prior to the Supreme Court decision made in Roe v. Wade on January 22, 1973. Since that date over 60 million babies have not celebrated an Independence Day, have not joined in family celebrations, watched fireworks or a parade.

I dream and pray for a day when all Americans, born and unborn, can enjoy justice for all and independence for all; an “Independence Day from Roe v. Wade” is in order. Otherwise, how can the dream survive abortion?

One day our babies will be free. Until that day, please enjoy this Independence Day but also say a prayer for those that are unable to celebrate it with us. And please take a moment to say this prayer for Independence Day!

Fr. Frank Pavone available for comment on Johnson Amendment during Value Voters Summit

Thursday, September 8th, 2016

Father Frank Pavone, National Director of Priests for Life and author of Abolishing Abortion (Nelson Books, August, 2015) has written extensively about the Johnson Amendment and is available for comment on presidential candidate Donald Trump’s plan to discuss the repeal of the amendment at this week’s Value Voters Summit.

In Abolishing Abortion, Father Pavone devotes several chapters to the political origins of the law, how it has stifled churches and clergy since 1954, and how Churches themselves often make its effect worse or simply use it as an excuse for cowardice:

“Having won his Senate seat only by a margin of 87 highly disputed votes and now up for re-election, Johnson wanted to silence two secular, nonprofit organizations that were supporting his opponent. Johnson had made inquiries with the IRS commissioner to determine whether these organizations were breaking any law by their political involvement. When told they were not, he introduced the amendment to punish them for what had been legal up till then. At the time, there were no discussions, debates or any considerations of a constitutional foundation for the amendment. Nor was there any discussion of whether this restriction applied to churches.”

Father Pavone also criticizes the interpretation of the amendment offered by the IRS, with its vague “facts and circumstances approach:

“… It has been a maze of confusion and inconsistency that, in practice, has made this provision unintelligible and therefore next to impossible to apply.”

Fr. Pavone’s book offers some practical suggestions to move forward beyond self-censorship. To arrange an interview with Father Pavone, contact Leslie Palma-Simoncek, communications director at Priests for Life, at 347-286-7277 or

Priests for Life Salutes House Panel on Infant Lives for Probe of University of New Mexico, Southwest Women’s Options

Father Stephen Imbarrato, a member of the Priests for Life Pastoral Team, who has led significant pro-life activism in New Mexico, including investigation of the late-term abortion industry there, today applauded the House Select Investigative Panel on Infant Lives for its decision to refer for criminal investigation the University of New Mexico (UNM) and Southwest Women’s Options (SWWO), an abortion business in Albuquerque.

Fr. Frank Pavone and Priests for Life have supported the work of the panel from the beginning and have channeled information to its members.

Rep. Marsha Blackburn, chairwoman, said evidence has been uncovered that indicates an illegal relationship between the university and the business that provides abortions through all three trimesters of pregnancy.

“It is the Panel’s understanding,” Ms. Blackburn said, “that SWWO is the sole provider of fetal tissue to UNM.”

The panel believes the relationship violates the Spradling Act, which prohibits making anatomical gifts of the remains of any baby killed by induced abortion.

“Documentation obtained by the Panel in the course of our investigation reflects the transfer of fetal tissue from Southwestern Women’s Options to UNM for research purposes is a systematic violation of New Mexico’s Spradling Act,” Ms. Blackburn said.

Father Imbarrato founded several pro-life organizations in Albuquerque, including Protest ABQ, which is now run by Bud and Tara Shaver. He thanked the Shavers, the House panel and others for shining a light on the relationship between the university and the abortion business.

“This is the result of the hard and good work of the entire pro-life community in New Mexico,” Father Imbarrato said. “Everyone needs to keep the pressure on and demand our governor and legislators finally put an end to the unfettered and unregulated abortion cartel in the state.”

Father Pavone, National Director of Priests for Life, also saluted the work of the panel.

“Despite the nation attempting to avert its eyes from the baby parts harvesting scandal, Rep. Blackburn’s panel will ensure this is not possible,” Father Pavone said. “Laws have been broken and it’s past time for a reckoning.”

Priests for Life to Announce Election Plans at Jan. 6 Press Conference in D.C.

Tuesday, December 29th, 2015

Date: December 29, 2015

Contact: Leslie Palma

Priests for Life will announce some of its plans and strategies for the 2016 election during a press conference at 10 a.m. Jan. 6 in the Bloomberg Room at the National Press Club in Washington, D.C.

“The people of God need to elect public servants who know the difference between serving the public and killing the public,” said Fr. Frank Pavone, National Director of Priests for Life, who will be the main presenter at the press conference, which, he said, “will challenge both Church and state to fulfill their duties to protect children in the womb. Ending the holocaust of abortion has for some time — and remains now — the most urgent moral priority for both Church and state.”

Fr. Pavone will be joined by Janet Morana, Executive Director of Priests for Life and a key participant in Catholic outreach efforts in past presidential election cycles.

The press conference will, in particular, call upon churches to stop censoring themselves when it comes to speaking about politics and elections.

“We’re not asking anyone to break the law,” said Fr. Pavone. “We’re asking them to understand the law and stop being afraid to live it out. The law allows us to do far more than we realize.”

To address that point, also joining Father Frank Pavone at the press conference will be James Bopp Jr., an attorney and a top expert on what the law permits churches to do regarding elections. He has provided legal guidance to Priests for Life in election-related activity through the years.

Mr. Bopp, who founded the Bopp Law Firm in 1992, was identified in a Reuters report as one of 66 attorneys – among 17,000 — whose clients have had remarkable success in having their petitions heard by the Supreme Court.
Also participating will be Christiana Holcomb, an attorney with the Alliance Defending Freedom, which has likewise provided tremendous help to Priests for Life and to churches and other organizations nationwide.

Since joining Alliance Defending Freedom in 2012, Ms. Holcomb has worked to protect the freedom of churches, Christian schools, and Christian ministries to freely exercise their faith without government interference. She also advocates for these issues as an Alliance Defending Freedom Regional Legal Academy faculty member and as a conference speaker throughout the country.

“Much or our message has been outlined in my recently published book Abolishing Abortion (Thomas Nelson, August 2015),” Father Pavone said. “As I document extensively in the book, churches often hide behind the excuse that they will lose their tax-exempt status if they become too vocal about voting pro-life,” Father Pavone said. “It is ironic that as churches oppose the Obama administration’s mandates limiting religious freedom, those same churches impose their own mandates limiting that same freedom. It’s time to stop censoring ourselves and to stop hiding behind the tax man while doing so.”

The National Press Club is at 529 14th St NW in D.C. For information about the press conference or to speak to Father Pavone, call Leslie Palma, Communications Director for Priests for Life, at 347-286-7277 or email her at

Pro-life Themes on the Silver Screen

Tuesday, September 15th, 2015

Speakers at World Meeting of Families Pro-Life International Symposium will highlight the value of family-friendly films.

PHILADELPIA — The culture of death has been winning at the box office for decades, but that is changing. Two of the speakers at next week’s Pro-Life International Symposium at the World Meeting of Families are in the vanguard of a growing movement working to spread a pro-life message on the silver screen.

Eduardo Verastegui, producer of 2007’s Bella and this year’s Little Boy, and Kathy DiFiore, whose work to hope homeless pregnant women was the inspiration for 2013’s Gimme Shelter, will be among the dynamic pro-life leaders who will headline the free event at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 23 at the Pennsylvania Convention Center in Philadelphia.

Verastegui , who grew up in northern Mexico, had a successful career that traded on his good looks. He sang in a boy band, acted in a Spanish-language soap opera and performed in a steamy Jennifer Lopez music video. But when a young woman he hired to help him improve his English began speaking to him about God and the road he was traveling, he had a change of heart.

“I realized I was using my talent in a very selfish way,” Verastegui told Christian Broadcasting Network in a 2007 interview. “In my opinion, I was poisoning our society with the projects I was involved with. “

He made a decision to accept only roles that elevated human dignity, and went four years without a job. Finally, he and some friends founded a film production company called Metanoia that produced the overtly pro-life Bella, winner of the Toronto International Film Festival’s “People’s Choice” award, and the pro-family Little Boy, which critics panned for its religious overtones but audiences loved. Verastegui also acted in both films.

Ms. DiFiore didn’t have Hollywood in mind when she first opened her home to pregnant women in crisis but her success in changing women’s lives and saving their babies at her Several Sources Shelters for more than 30 years attracted the attention of writer and film director Ron Krauss, who told the Houston Chronicle that Gimme Shelter “deals with some of the most life-changing and affirming things we can imagine: A mother and her child.”

At the Pro-Life International Symposium, Ms. DiFiore will announce details of a second film, currently in production, that was inspired by her work.

Father Frank Pavone, National Director of Priests for Life and author of Abolishing Abortion, also will speak at the event, which is an official World Meeting of Families gathering but is also open to the general public.

“The fact that abortion, and alternatives to abortion, are being brought to the big screen is a very positive development that was a long time coming,” Father Pavone said. “So many millions of women have been wounded by choosing abortion and no matter how warmly it is embraced by the entertainment industry, abortion is always the worst possible option. Films like Bella and Gimme Shelter highlight the fact that no matter how dire the circumstances seem, there is always a better choice.

“Families attending the World Meeting will be uplifted by Eduardo’s message and Kathy’s work. I hope everyone will make time for this vital symposium.”

Fox News to Focus on Planned Parenthood’s “Hidden Harvest” of Baby Body Parts

Wednesday, September 2nd, 2015

Date: September 2, 2015

Contact: Leslie Palma

NEW YORK — Undercover videos showing Planned Parenthood trafficking in the organs and limbs of aborted children have exposed an underbelly of the abortion industry that horrifies anyone with a functioning conscience.

On Friday, Sept. 4, at 10 p.m. ET, Fox News will further expose this ghoulish but profitable practice in “Planned Parenthood: Hidden Harvest,” anchored by veteran TV journalist Shannon Bream.

Father Frank Pavone, National Director of Priests for Life and author of the just-released pro-life manifesto Abolishing Abortion, is among the national pro-life leaders who was interviewed for the special report.

“Various polls have shown that many Americans still remain unaware of the profitable after-market in baby parts that line the pockets of abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood,” Father Pavone said.

“This special should be required viewing for every voter and taxpayer in America. The videos recorded by the Center for Medical Progress clearly show that Planned Parenthood illegally alters the abortion procedures it uses to get intact organs, is illegally paid for these organs, and is fully aware that every abortion kills a human being. If these were just ‘the products of conception’ being eliminated, they would not be so profitable.”

Fr. Pavone also noted that this undercover video project “is part of a wider strategy of exposing abortion, which includes exposing not only the procedure itself, but the corruption within the abortion industry.”

Noting that Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell has said the Senate lacks the votes to defund Planned Parenthood, Father Pavone said “every Senator who lacks the courage to cut off more than $500 million in taxpayer funding needs to be held accountable. That’s why it is so important for people to watch this Fox special, so they are armed with the information they need to urge their elected representatives to stop funding Planned Parenthood.”

“Planned Parenthood: Hidden Harvest” will be rebroadcast at 1 a.m. ET on Saturday, Sept. 5.

Abolishing Abortion: A Must Read Book for Such a Time as This

Tuesday, August 18th, 2015

150818 blog image

The latest book by Fr. Frank Pavone, Abolishing Abortion: How You Can Play a Part in Ending the Greatest Evil of Our Day, is a much needed book in these turbulent days as we see the value of human life being attacked on many different fronts.

In ABOLISHING ABORTION, Rev. Frank Pavone delivers twenty “arrows” to pierce the chinks in the deadly armor of the abortion machine. It’s a how to approach packed with anecdotes and historical perspectives.

I have been working with Fr. Frank for ten years as Director of African American Outreach with Priests for Life. During this time we have fought many battles to save the unborn from death and for their right to life. We have also labored to help the mothers and families of the babies. For abortion makes victims not only of the babies, but society as a whole.

I first met Rev. Pavone at a Right to Life meeting over twenty years ago. I had been Pro-life since 1983, and as a post abortive African American woman, I welcomed the opportunity to join him in the greatest Civil Rights battle of our times.

Just as my uncle, Rev. Martin Luther King, Jr., and my father, Rev. A.D. King, fanned the flames of the civil rights movement, so today Rev. Frank Pavone is doing the same for the movement to end abortion. Fr. Frank’s book ‘Abolishing Abortion’ is another step in that great task.”

Life today seems to have less value, at least in the eyes of many. Whether it’s Black lives, unborn lives, lives of the disabled, lives of the elderly, ALL life has been devalued. Yet what would you expect from societies that allow a mother to kill her own child and call it a personal ‘choice?’

Today death has spread from the abortion facilities to the deserts of Iraq, to the streets of our cities, to the classrooms of our schools, and to the prayer meetings of our churches.

The killing will not end until we begin to defend the most innocent of all, the unborn babies in the womb. When we say that their lives matter, then we can truly say, “All Lives Matter.” And yes, we can even put a hashtag in front of it if we like.

Abolishing Abortion is a call to action for everyone who values human life; which can change hearts and minds and ultimately the world.

Father Pavone’s Abolishing Abortion Hits Bookshelves Today

Pro-life manifesto calls upon the Church and State to protect unborn children.

NEW YORK — Father Frank Pavone, National Director of Priests for Life and a long-time pro-life activist, has long said he’s not just fighting abortion, he’s working to end it.

His new book, Abolishing Abortion: How You Can Play a Part in Ending the Greatest Evil of Our Day (Thomas Nelson, HarperCollins Christian Publishing), released today, outlines a strategy to end abortion in the United States.

In the book, Father Pavone explores biblical, moral, historical, and legal reasons Christians belong in the public square and challenges both churches and individual Christians to full engagement.

Abolishing Abortion calls upon both the Church and the State to step up and fulfill their duties to protect the unborn child. It provides readers with legal facts, political strategies, and theological rationales for getting engaged and being effective.

Endorsed by a who’s who of political and pro-life leaders, Abolishing Abortion details how 1973’s Roe v. Wade ruling actually changed the kind of government we have in the United States and guides readers through practical steps they can take to restore the democracy the Founding Fathers had in mind.

Those who have endorsed the book include Kansas Gov. Sam Brownback, who said Abolishing Abortion is a “stirring call to both church and state to protect the unborn.”

Presidential hopefuls Mike Huckabee and Rick Santorum have likewise endorsed the book.

Abolishing Abortion hits bookshelves at a time when Americans are being presented with a series of undercover videos recorded at Planned Parenthood facilities, revealing the horror of their activities. Father Pavone’s book actually outlines the strategy that leads to these undercover projects, explains their power, and outlines the practical follow-up action that needs to be taken.

Father Pavone said that through Abolishing Abortion, he has tried to express and spread the passion that he and so many others have for ending child killing.

“This book goes to the core of what we have to do to end abortion,” he said. “It openly and honestly discusses the failure of both the state and the church in this regard, and offers practical solutions, strategies and steps forward in which we can all take part.”

Abolishing Abortion can be ordered at
