TITUSVILLE, FL – Forty national pro-life leaders from around the country will join local, state and federal elected officials, pastors, supporters, staff and volunteers at the official grand opening of Priests for Life’s new headquarters here on Saturday, April 28.

At 11 a.m., Carol Fondo, director of member services for the Titusville Chamber of Commerce, will cut the ribbon outside the 20,000-square-foot building at 5211 South Washington Ave. that was formerly known to local residents as the “Patch building” for the family that built the structure and ran a printing operation for many years.

“We’re excited to celebrate Priests for Life at the grand opening of their headquarters in Titusville,” Ms. Fondo said. “We wish them much success in the future.”

Father Frank Pavone, National Director, explained that the international pro-life ministry had been headquartered in Staten Island, New York, for more than 25 years but made the move to Titusville to a larger facility, and in a state that is much friendlier to its pro-life mission. It’s also the first time Priests for Life has owned its own building.

A special guest who will be in attendance Saturday is U.S. Rep. Bill Posey (R-FL), whose 8th congressional district includes Titusville.

“I am honored to help in welcoming Priests for Life to their new home in Titusville, Florida,” the congressman said. “Of all the rights and privileges that we Americans enjoy today, there is none more important than the right to life and we should work to ensure that even the most vulnerable among us are protected.”

Titusville Vice Mayor Matt Barringer and Florida State Rep. Erin Grall (District 54) also will attend. A spokeswoman for Ms. Grall said that although her district does not include Titusville, she is attending to show support for Priests for Life’s pro-life mission.

“We have been welcomed with open arms, and we are very much enjoying getting to know our new neighbors, locally and throughout the state,” Father Pavone said.

The building had been vacant for at least five years and extensive renovations were done to the interior over the course of a year. The move from Staten Island required five tractor-trailers that made the trip in the summer of 2017.

In addition to office and meeting space, the building features a chapel, radio studio, state-of-the art television studio and a warehouse to contain Priests for Life’s vast collection of pro-life books and resources. Tours will be given following the ribbon cutting.

Some Staten Island staffers made the move to Titusville and many local residents have been hired to fill positions.

“We’re still looking for some key people to round out our staff,” said Janet Morana, Executive Director.
Members of the Priests for Life Pastoral Team, including Father Pavone and Mrs. Morana, travel all over the country and the world, speaking at churches, schools and pro-life gatherings.

Priests for Life was formed in 1991 as an outreach to Catholic priests, but has since expanded to include a dozen widely diverse, interdenominational ministries, including Rachel’s Vineyard, the world’s largest ministry for healing after abortion; the Silent No More Awareness Campaign, a mobilization of mothers and fathers who regret their abortion experiences, and Civil Rights for the Unborn, headed by Alveda King, the niece of the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King.

“We feel very privileged to be part of the Titusville revival,” Father Pavone said. “The Space Coast is a very exciting place to live right now. And to make it easy for people to reach us, we have one of the simplest numbers in our 321 area code: 321-500-1000.”

“The rocket launches are the icing on the cake,” Mrs. Morana added.

Media are welcome to the grand opening and can schedule interviews with Priests for Life personnel before the event. To arrange an interview, contact Leslie Palma, communications director, at 732-757-9087 or media@priestsforlife.org

Father Frank Pavone of Priests for Life condemns British court, hospital and the silence of the worldwide media

TITUSVILLE, FL — Father Frank Pavone, National Director of Priests for Life, today condemned a British court and hospital as plans were put in place to end the life of 23-month-old Baby Alfie Evans.

“The Royal Courts of Justice in London has decided on a date and time to end this precious child’s life, but that date and time are not to be released to the public. They hope to accomplish this state-sanctioned murder without anyone noticing. And since the British media and pro-life media in the U.S. are the only outlets covering this tragedy, perhaps the world won’t notice.

“The whole world was watching the Baby Charlie Gard case last year, and in 2011 when a Canadian hospital tried something similar with Baby Joseph Maraachli. Have we reached the limit of our compassion?”

Priests for Life has been working behind the scenes with the family and will continue those efforts, Father Pavone said.

“Where there is life, there’s hope,” he said. “The family and its supporters will keep doing everything they can to protect Alfie’s life from the dictates of a heartless government and health-care system and an indifferent media.”

Evangelist Alveda C. King: Remembering the legacy of MLK #MLK50

Wednesday, April 4th, 2018

Today, April 4, 2018, marks the 50th anniversary of the legacy of Rev. Martin Luther King, Jr. I, and other family members and many friends are prayerfully joining his heirs; Martin III, Dexter, Bernice and granddaughter Yolanda Renee, as well as their spouses; as we all, including The President, commemorate the momentous day. Then, tomorrow we will join the US Park Service in celebrating the newly proclaimed MLK National Historic Park.

Fifty years ago, my “Uncle ML” left this world after being gunned down in a grim assassination. Yet his legacy lives on; not attached to the bullets, but rather pointing to Christ’s victory on the cross.

The number 50 represents Jubilee; a season of grace and freedom. Ultimately Jesus won freedom for everyone. In following Christ, MLK embraced the totality of Agape Love for humanity.

Shortly before his death on April 4, 1968, in his 1967 Christmas sermon, MLK pointed out the foundation of his vision: “And when we truly believe in the sacredness of [the] human personality, we won’t exploit people, we won’t trample over people with the iron feet of oppression, we won’t kill anybody.”

If Uncle MLK were here today, he would likely remind us that we can “live together as brothers [and sisters]; rather than perish together as fools.

I believe that “Uncle ML” and Aunt Coretta would be blessed to know that their three remaining adult children and granddaughter are walking toward a path of not being judged by the color of their skin, but rather to be embraced as beloved members of the one blood human race of Acts 17:26.

By denouncing racism, violence and hurtful human deeds today and in the days ahead; by embracing nonviolent actions of a “One Blood Human Race” with our words and behavior, we can march towards a brighter day. We must agree to “value the human personality” from the womb to the tomb.

Finally, MLK was an imperfect and repentant human being who served a perfect God. Today, I believe my uncle would encourage us all to turn from the glittering and deceptive lights of the world and seek after the truth and light of God.

When we do this, Jubilee will dawn in our lives, and freedom will truly ring.
