God “satisfies your mouth with good things; so that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s.” – American King James Version.

Thought for the day: Good things can be the words that come out of your mouth or the nutrition you put into your mouth…

130531 blog imageA rose from my garden at home; fresh raw kale salad with smoked chicken and shrimp garnish; gluten free cream cake with fresh strawberries and mint.

I’ve been battling with my weight for a few years. Can you imagine my joy to discover that since the beginning of 2013, I’ve lost 36 pounds? My radio co-host Emmanuel Boose has lost 30 pounds. How are we doing it? We are praying to God to order our steps and our appetites; parking at the far spots in the parking lots and walking; counting points and portions, and eliminating bad carbohydrates and in some cases gluten from our meals. What works for you?

Family mealtimes can play an important role in creating a sense of community in a household. It is helpful to have everyone eat together as often as possible, and also to create meals together when they can. The meals don’t need to be fancy—even preparing quick yet healthy meals out of a box can generate good feelings—and when everyone gets involved with basic tasks as fundamental as feeding the family, an invaluable feeling of unity develops.

Of course in some families, the women are expected to bear the larger responsibility of meal planning and preparation. In other families, the men share or even carry out that role. Children are even brought into the process in some families. Whatever the custom or model is in the home, people have to eat. It may be out of a box, it may be carry in, or family members may enjoy expressing culinary gifts and calling. Whatever the process, mealtimes can be fun, and should always be healthy and uplifting.

Weight tip for today: If you need to maintain your healthy weight, gain a few pounds, or even loose a few inches, let the Holy Spirit help you plan your routines.

Check out my cooking video (36 pounds ago) for some food tips.

Stay tuned for more.

How Can Surgery With Contaminated Instruments Not Endanger a Patient’s Life?

Thursday, May 30th, 2013

130530 blog image

Recently the Washington Post reported that the Maryland health officials investigating the case of a woman [Jennifer Morbelli] who died in February after a late-term abortion [by abortionist LeRoy Carhart] at a Germantown clinic found “no deficiencies” in her case.

Read what three experts have to say about this:

1. The reason these people hang on the word natural is because they want to white wash the horrors of the abortion cartel. There are general three choices for cause of death listed: homicide, suicide, natural and unknown so Jennifer’s death could only be ruled as natural. What’s natural about a botched abortion? The sub standard care that LeRoy Carhart gave Jennifer, likely with dirty instruments similar to those noted in the “inspection” is below the standard of care and likely she would have lived if she had been treated by a real doctor in a hospital. Carhart abandoned Jennifer when she needed him most. He was on a plane and did not have a care in the world for her as she lay dying. Would these “natural” causes have occurred if there had not been a botched abortion? According to Maryland’s Office of the Chief Medical Examiner, the examiner’s report noted that the first cause of death was “disseminated intravascular coagulation” resulting in the “dysfunction of multiple organs.” The condition involves amniotic fluid entering the woman’s blood stream, which affects her ability to clot blood. [Carhart routinely told his patients not to call 911. In the expose documentary Bloodmoney, former and repentant abortionist Carol Everett speaks on camera about how abortionists avoid being tied to ER locations after botching abortions. They do all they can to avoid discovery of their deeds by redirecting or ignoring patients.]

2. Carhart did not give standard of care service. I have never heard of a [reputable] MD telling a pt not to call 911. If anything we tell them to call 911 when they feel it is an emergency. You might note that most doctors’ offices telephone answering service says, “If this is an emergency, hang up and dial 911.” In fact, you cannot reach any other office line without first hearing this. Of course dirty instruments are a health threat. Medical history tells us it was nurses that noted that patients had more infections when doctors did not wash their hands between patients. This would be the same situation whether it was dirty hands or instruments. Amniotic fluid embolism is a well known cause of DIC.

3. They know the truth! They know dirty anything is a hazard thus the business of waste management and sanitation depts. They are simply denying it for capital gain. The Medical Boards are just a formality. Health Depts are mired in politics. I agree the court of public opinion may be the best place to go utilizing social media. The mainstream media is censored.

The above three comments are from investigators and medical professionals in response to the article.

Additionally, the article goes on to say,

“But the department did find numerous deficiencies at Germantown Reproductive Health Services during its broader inspection of all surgical abortion clinics.

“The most common deficiencies found in Germantown and the 11 other clinics involved lapses in providing information about the professional credentials of clinic physicians, maintaining a sanitary environment at all times and providing a discharge diagnosis in the medical record. Health officials said all of the physicians had the educational and certification requirements to perform surgical abortions. There was no evidence that the other deficiencies resulted in harm to patients.”

First, let’s discuss the “no deficiencies” ruling by the MD health officials. I know that when I call any reputable doctor’s office either after hours or when they don’t personally answer the phone such as when they are out to lunch, the first thing I hear after the greeting is, “[i]f this is a medical emergency please hang up and dial 911.”

How does Carhart instruct his “patients” to seek help regarding emergency follow up treatment?

LifeNews’ Steven Ertelt reported in February 18, 2013 that,

“Among the papers was a document instructing women not to go to the ER in the event of an emergency, but instead to “call and we will meet you at the clinic,” which is clearly dangerous medical advice.

“The number given in the instructions has now been connected to a [horse equipment] business Carhart owns.

“It turns out the number to “Mary,” Carhart’s wife, is the same number as the 24-hour hotline number to Carhart’s horse equipment business,” pro-life blogger Jill Stanek notes.”

If I called my doctor and the recording said, ““[i]f this is a medical emergency do not hang up and dial 911. Instead call me at my other business that I own and I or my wife will answer.” That would send up red flags everywhere.

Also, when Ms. Morbelli called the office Carhart was nowhere to be found. Carhart travels between Maryland and Nebraska and was reported to have been on a plane to Nebraska as Morbelli struggled for her life.

Second, is the issue of “lapses in maintaining a sanitary environment.”

There are regulations that facilities are supposed to follow to make sure the patients receive a certain standard of care. Those regulations were not followed in Carhart’s abortion office. The sub standard care that LeRoy Carhart gave Jennifer is below the standard of care and she would have lived if she would have been treated by a real doctor in a hospital. But that’s right, she was told not to go to the hospital by Carhart’s office and Carhart was nowhere to be found.

The inspection report from the Maryland Department of Health and Mental Hygiene noted that among the many deficiencies were surgical instruments not being cleaned properly and drugs being administered improperly across patients. And yet they found these deficiencies not to be a health threat to the patients.

No hospital surgical facility would get away with this type of regulation infringements. Neither should the abortions providers be allowed to get away with this.

The report also stated,

“During a tour on 2/12/13 at 1:30 pm, one pre-drawn syringe was observed in a locked cabinet. The syringe contained clear liquid, and was labeled, “2/11/13.” However, there was no other information documented (labeled) on the syringe in order to know the name, dose, and expiration of the medication.
Interview of Staff #3 on 2/12/13 at 1:30 pm revealed that she acknowledged that the syringe was not adequately labeled.”

The report also said that, “Single dose medication vials may only be used with one needle, and for one patient. After one time use, the single dose medication vial must be discarded. It may not be used as a multidose medication vial.

“Interview of Staff #3 on 2/12/13 at 1:30 pm revealed that 50 milliliter single dose vials of Fentanyl are used to pre-draw the syringes of Versed mixed with Fentanyl. If any Fentanyl remains in the 50 milliliter single dose vial after the desired number of pre-drawn syringes are prepared, the date that the vial was opened and used is documented on the vial, and the vial is used for up to 28 days after it is opened and used.’

In the “Provider’s Plan of Correction” section of the reports it states that, “We are no longer ordering the 50 ml SDV. We have switched to the 5 ml and 10 ml SOV to be used on only one pt.”

I guess prior to the inspection they were buying in bulk because it was cheaper and they didn’t mind using the medication on more than one patient. So what if they transmitted diseases between patients!

I know that when I buy and store my medicine, whether prescription or over the counter, I always make sure to keep the medicine in labeled bottles or boxes so that I know what the medication is. That’s in my own house. How much more diligence should abortion ambulatory facilities be in insuring the safety of their medications. Apparently Carhart is not that concerned about his patients that he safeguards against mislabeling or even bothering to label their medications properly.

Isn’t it funny how God works? As I’m writing this blog I get an email with a link to a story about Little Rock Family Planning. The story, Dangers Exposed With New Inspection Report states,

“Clinic exposed patients to dirty linens and blankets, dispensed expired medications, no plan in place to protect patients from TB, and no plan in place to report infectious diseases. Please note, the deficiencies related to the expired drugs being used on patients is a repeat offense, that can cause serious complications especially if these expired drugs are being used to treat patients during an emergency!”

I assure you, Carhart and this clinic in Little Rock are not the only ones that have deficiencies at their clinics.

Sometimes those entrusted with regulating the abortion industry let their politics get in the way of their doing their job, as is the case with Carhart.

Jill Stanek, reporting for LifeNews on April 9, 2013 regarding Carhart, states that although three abortion clinics in Maryland are being shut down, Carhart’s is not among them. She then goes on to explain the relationship between Carhart and Health Secretary Joseph M. Sharfstein. Jill opines, “That Sharfstein carries an affinity for Carhart is speculative, but a friend who worked across the aisle from Sharfstein on the Hill is confident there is a connection there.” As you read the article, you can make your own determination. It’s definitely worth reading.

Abortion hurts women physically, emotionally, and spiritually.

Please read about how abortion hurt my body, soul, and spirit and how God healed me.

Finally, we must all continue to encourage our Senators and Representatives to support abortion regulatory bills and oppose bills expanding abortion access. And we must continue to demand that all abortion providers – surgical and chemical providers – and their facilities be regularly investigated and required to meet the same standard of care that other health service providers must give their patients. Period!

Instead, the opposite is true. New reports of inspections are emerging all over like in this report from Virginia where patients receive substandard care if you can call it care at all.

Thank you and God bless you!

Every Good Thing

James 1:17
English Standard Version (©2001)
“Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights with whom there is no variation or shadow due to change.”

Fr. Frank’s tweeted photo of a church sign that said “Fetalcide is also homicide, abortion kills” was used by Live Action News columnist Lauren Enriquez as a springboard to write a column on whether pro-lifers should “condemn” or “turn the other cheek.” She cites Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.’s tactic of creating non-violent “tension” in order to wake America to the evil of racism and concludes that “the undeniable truth that abortion is murder that will keep the pro-life movement thriving until one day the nation restores equal rights to the pre-born.”

Read Lauren’s column HERE.

Friends, I can’t tell you how many times I’ve been inspired by words of Father Frank Pavone, my Uncle Martin Luther King, Jr. and other men and women of God. As we continue to obey and serve God and allow God’s creative energy to flow through us, lighting the fire and inspiring others to spring forth as we see in this news account, together we press on towards victory. Onward Christian soldiers!

Jack McMahon’s Interview with Megyn Kelly

Thursday, May 23rd, 2013

At the end of an interview between Megyn Kelly and Kermit Gosnell’s defense attorney, Jack McMahon – that at times became pretty heated – Jack said something that everyone needs to hear (or in this case read).

Jack: I’ll tell you what. I’ve come out of this case realizing that 24 weeks is a bad determiner. It should be like 16, 17 weeks. That would be a far better thing because the babies would not be even arguable viable at that point and time. And I think the law should be changed to that. I think pro-choice would have still the right to choose but they’ve got to choose quicker. And I think that’s something that should come out of this. I think more regulations should come out of these locations.

Megyn: I don’t think anyone is disputing that.

Jack: I’m not sitting here saying this was all done right.

Megyn: Well, actually I shouldn’t say that because NARAL pro-choice America and other pro-choice groups like Planned Parenthood are disputing some of the regulations that have been proposed.

Megyn began the interview stating, “I want to make clear from the onset that we don’t tar the attorney for the sins of the client. That’s not the way this system works in this country.” And from there the interview continued and as it did it got more and more contentious.

Not being an attorney myself and not having sat in the courtroom for every part of this trial as Jack did, I for one respect Jack in his handling of what seemed to be a very difficult situation.

As a defense attorney he defended his client with zeal to the best of his ability as the justice system requires of him. The fact that he says that Gosnell was “a dream client . . . a gentleman, polite, understanding, fully appreciative of the work that I’ve done for him. A complete gentleman. A soft spoken man, an intelligent man,” does not mean that he agreed with what Gosnell did nor does he think that his client did nothing wrong. It only means that Jack his client, Gosnell, as a fellow human being as we all should.

Why Jack sees him in that light is anyone’s guess but we should see him in the same light because he was created by God as you and I were. As such, he has a soul worth saving. Did he do despicable things: Absolutely! Should he be in prison? Absolutely! Is he a monster as many have described him? What I do know is that God did not create a monster. So how did he become this way. Fr. Frank does a good job of explaining in his column, Why is Gosnell Smiling?

Jack is Gosnell’s defense attorney and as such he is answering questions asked of him from that perspective. I don’t know what his personal views are on abortion. What I do know is that as a defense attorney he had to do the best job possible for his client. Even now he seems to be answering questions honestly and directly according to what come out in court without the emotional response that most of us have.

Maybe if Jack could step out of the “attorney” roll we would see a much different man as it seems we got a glimpse of at the end of the interview.

I also want to share a story that a good friend of mine, Georgette Forney, related to me:

A friend of mine knows a nurse from in the late 1960s; her (the nurse’s) husband was training to become a doctor in Philadelphia. She was talking about the fact that back then Gosnell offered the nurses OBGYN services because he knew they couldn’t afford it.

She was a nursing student at the time, in a sorority that had a piano in the front room. When young Dr. Gosnell found out what sorority she was in he would go play the piano and the sorority women really liked the guy. They said he was just very kind and he didn’t charge the nurses for the free medical exams. He provided free OBGYN services to them because he said he wanted to help struggling nursing students. He also provided prescriptions for birth control. He was trying to be helpful. She talked about the fact that he was very professional and very well respected.

Here was the interesting thing that she said. “I googled his name a couple of years back (this is the 21st century by now) because I had thought of him and I expected him to be the head of a medical school OBGYN department. He was so well respected and he was so charismatic that I thought he would leader in the medical profession. So when I googled him and found out that he was an abortionist in Philadelphia, I was shocked.”

Her story reminded me of what late term abortionist said to me the time I visited his abortion mill soon before he was shot and killed. I went to tell him that I was post abortive and that he was doing harm to women and babies. His response that he sent to me via his security guard was this: “Tell Dr. King that we both care about women, we just have different ways of showing it.”

There is something very wrong with this picture. Doctors who think they start out trying to do good become murderous monsters in the abortion industry. All of this makes one wonder what the real motivation must be for Planned Parenthood and NARAL Pro-Choice America and their communities of death must be. As they continue to oppose sensible legislation that would require enforcement of laws for safety and care, inspection of facilities and other measures to prevent other abortion facilities from deteriorating to the point that they become the type of torture chambers that Gosnell’s ‘House of Horrors’ was.

Could the real motivation be money instead of safe and rare?

We can see that something went terribly wrong with Gosnell. Please continue to pray for his soul and that we’ll uncover the dark things that cause people to go off track.

Take Time to Pray: Life Goes On, or Does It?

Wednesday, May 22nd, 2013

[Have the Attitude of Christ] Is there any encouragement from belonging to Christ? Any comfort from his love? Any fellowship together in the Spirit? Are your hearts tender and compassionate? Philippians 2:1 NLT

My heart goes out to the victims of the recent Oklahoma tragedy. Let us continue to pray for them, and for all who continue to lose lives and property every day in America and across the globe. In the midst of all of the tragedy, one can’t help wondering if there is a connection between what humans term “natural disasters” and something closer to the human heart; are these “signs of the times” occurring more and more frequently in order to turn our attention away from the media spins back to the plight of humanity?

A few days before the tornado, I received a sad call regarding the death of Malcom X’s grandson, Malcom Shabazz. I never met him personally, but was planning to sit down with him and talk with him and encourage him for his prolife stance. My failure to go to such a meeting with him was maybe a case of my thinking that I’d find time one day to speak with Mr. Shabazz because I considered his brave prolife position as bold and courageous. However, time ran out for me, and sadly for Mr. Shabazz. He was killed on a tour outside of the country. I just want to thank him in his earthly absence for having had the courage to stand up against the scourge of abortion.

Later on in the week, I was preparing to accept another opportunity that I almost turned down, because I thought I was “too busy” to take the time. I was invited to do a talk, Purpose: Be Fruitful and Multiply, at a Mother-Daughter brunch in Atlanta. The topic of the meeting was “Matters of the Heart.” The sponsor of the event encouraged me to speak candidly about my own post abortion testimony and to also exhort the listeners to have a change of heart. I remember thinking that day and then later on in the week after the terrible Oklahoma tornado that no matter what happens, those who remain behind after a tragic death have to go on with our lives. And it is important to pray and ask God to help us not miss out on opportunities that might make a difference in someone’s life if we only take the time.

I imagine that we can all agree that no matter what happens, life does go on. There is life after Oklahoma. There is life after Gosnell. At least there is life for the living; prayerfully there is life after death for all of the innocent victims. Surely, there is life after death for everyone, but the question will have to be answered sooner or later. WHERE WILL YOU SPEND ETERNITY?

Gosnell Case Raises Questions About Race and Abortion

Tuesday, May 21st, 2013

For Immediate Release
May 20, 2013

Heather Gims, Director of Communications
Phone: 513.729.3600

The recent trial of abortionist Kermit Gosnell has brought attention to the issue of race and abortion. He was convicted of first-degree murder in the deaths of three babies and of involuntary manslaughter in the death of a 41-year-old abortion patient. It is alleged that Gosnell preyed upon poor minority women at his late-term abortion mill. It raises the question, is targeting of minorities actually taking place in the abortion industry?

A statistic frequently quoted by the media is from a 2011 Guttmacher Institute study that states only 9% of abortion facilities are located in predominantly Black neighborhoods. However, new research from Protecting Black Life reveals that Guttmacher’s study does not tell the whole story.

The nation’s largest abortion provider, Planned Parenthood, does not follow that trend. In fact, an overwhelming majority of Planned Parenthood surgical abortion facilities are placed within walking distance of minority neighborhoods. This new research shows that 62% of Planned Parenthood surgical abortion facilities are located within walking distance of relatively high African American populations. And a staggering 79% of Planned Parenthood surgical abortion facilities are located within walking distance of African American and/or Hispanic communities.

While previous studies have typically looked at large geographical areas such as zip codes, Protecting Black Life’s research is considerably more thorough and reliable because it analyzes population data at a much closer level using 2010 Census tract data. The Census tract approach provides a very consistent, in-depth and detailed look at the demographics of the population landscape.

To demonstrate the research results, Protecting Black Life has created an illustrated map integrated with Google Maps functionality, including the ability to zoom down to the street level of each location. The interactive map gives an up close and personal view of just how many of these abortion facilities are located near minority neighborhoods. The full research results, map and accompanying resources are available at

Arnold M. Culbreath, Director of Protecting Black Life says, “Minority neighborhoods are the #1 targets of Planned Parenthood. It’s no wonder abortion remains the leading cause of death among African Americans, higher than all other causes combined. Getting this information to as many people as possible is not only critical, it’s a matter of life and death for countless babies and oft times, as in the Gosnell case, even their mothers.”

About Protecting Black Life: Protecting Black Life is an outreach of Life Issues Institute, with a primary objective of informing the African American community how we are being targeted by the abortion industry. It provides education, resources and assistance in the development and implementation of strategies to lower and eventually eliminate the problem of abortion in the Black community. Priests for Life

Date: May 21, 2013

Contact: Leslie Palma

Washington, DC — Fr. Frank Pavone, National Director of Priests for Life, issued the following statement today:

“This week, Congressman Trent Franks (AZ-08) will hold a press conference on the Pain Capable Unborn Child Protection Act, announcing that its provisions, to protect children in the womb from 20 weeks of development forward, will apply nationwide. Moreover, a hearing regarding the bill will be held on Thursday.

“Priests for Life believes this is the most significant legislative effort to date in bringing protection to unborn children. We have therefore already alerted every parish in America to inform and mobilize its congregation in support of this bill. We are also calling upon pro-life organizations large and small to give it their full support.

“The team of Priests for Life has been instrumental in bringing attention to the case of Kermit Gosnell and in exposing other abortionists like him, and has been developing educational strategies related to late term abortion, such as our campaign. We will redouble these efforts as a way of supporting passage of the Pain Capable Unborn Child Protection Act.”

Leaders Must Now Become Humble, Unite and Support One Another

Monday, May 20th, 2013

130520 blog image3

A highly respected group of leaders gathered for prayer recently. It was determined during their time together that infighting was hurting the Body. We must exit the system of man, which elevates one over the other, causing self-importance to creep in. Let us go on to follow after the Lord.

Following are the remarks by one group member and response by another. May our hearts be open to receive and may we all be humble enough to precede and lead in love and humility.

“The precursor to God moving in the body is unity.”

“If we can’t get along as Christians and leaders, God will never entrust us with the Holy Spirit.”

“There should be significant prayer for unity. Where we have issues with one another, we may not always be able to work together because we may see things a little different, but we can still walk together in fellowship.”

“Backbiting and competitiveness that exists within the Body of Christ has to cease.”

“The key is to listen and obey the Holy Spirit.”

“Just because someone else doesn’t have the same calling as we do doesn’t give us a reason to criticize them.”

He has made it a policy to not talk about other Christian leaders in the press. He is also addressing not doing it privately and contacting other leaders that he has had differences within the past to make amends.

“Until we are striving for unity we will not have God’s moving in the Body.”

He personally hates the Presidential election stuff that divides us.

“We have got to keep short lists, short accounts of people that we have offended or have offended us and work through those relationships. When you hear a name and the back of your hair stands up, that is an indication you have a problem with another person that you need to work through with forgiveness.”

“We can’t walk with unforgiveness in our hearts. It leads to being wounded and that leads to bitterness and that takes us out of the game.”

“If we are calling for revival, the only thing that will save our nation, we have got to be in unity, humbling ourselves with our brothers and sisters.”

If we are truly desperate for God to move; we don’t want to be the ones responsible for God not moving. We must recognize that we are nothing apart from Christ. “If we really want to see God move we will obey Him.”

“Peter asked how many times he was to forgive people, and Jesus replied 70 times 7.”

“Even though we may not be able to work together, we can walk together.” (If we will obey God and serve Him and love each other; each preferring and regarding the other more highly than ourselves.)

As a movement DO WE HAVE ANY POWER or are we simply going through the motions?

“The Holy Spirit is not going to operate in unrepentant vessels.”

“The path forward is very difficult. We must have the power of the Holy Spirit. We’ve got to get ready.”

Let us recognize and admit there are people we personally need to go to and seek forgiveness of and reconciliation. If only we will begin this process we will surely experience God’s blessings on it.

“The path forward is very difficult. We must have the power of the Holy Spirit. We’ve got to get ready,” before we begin the work of determining God’s direction, to hear, know and obey what God is saying and follow His directions for this critical season.

1 Corinthians 12: 21-26 The eye cannot say to the hand, “I have no need of you,” nor again the head to the feet, “I have no need of you.” On the contrary, the parts of the body that seem to be weaker are indispensable, and on those parts of the body that we think less honorable we bestow the greater honor, and our unpresentable parts are treated with greater modesty, which our more presentable parts do not require. But God has so composed the body, giving greater honor to the part that lacked it, that there may be no division in the body, but that the members may have the same care for one another. If one member suffers, all suffer together; if one member is honored, all rejoice tog

Fr. Frank Applauds Bill to Protect Pain-Capable Children

Friday, May 17th, 2013

Priests for Life

May 17, 2013

Contact: Leslie Palma

Washington, DC – Fr. Frank Pavone and Priests for Life, the organization he leads, applauded today the announcement of Congressman Trent Franks (AZ-08) of a bill that would outlaw abortions nationwide after 20 weeks of development, when the scientific evidence is strongest that babies have the ability to feel pain.

“For the last few years, Priests for Life has strongly supported this type of legislation in the states, and has conducted an educational campaign called ‘Stop D and E’ (see ‘D and E’ refers to the Dilation and Evacuation procedure, that is, dismemberment abortion, which would be the most commonly used second trimester method of killing babies. With the introduction of this legislation, and building on the momentum of the state laws, the educational campaign, and the revelations of the Gosnell tragedy, we have more reason than ever to focus on this strategic goal, and more hope than ever that it will succeed,” Fr. Frank said.

“Make no mistake: the abortion industry and their cheerleaders do not want us talking about D and E abortions. They would much prefer we talk about abortions in the earliest stages of pregnancy. With these new developments, they should feel more uncomfortable than ever. The focus now is going to be late-term abortion, until it is ended in this country,” Fr. Frank concluded.
