Georgia Legislature is sadly outdated, out of touch with the people…; also graying of the pro-abortion movement

Friday, April 30th, 2010

The Georgia bill to outlaw abortions that are coerced or based on the race or sex or the child died Thursday night as the legislature adjourned for the year without taking final action on the measure.

This story makes me sad to say that I was once a member of the Georgia Legislature. Both parties, Democrats and Republicans had a chance to help women and strike a blow at racism, and they killed it, along with their actions are the subsequent killings of more babies.  So sad!

Abortion proponents are dying out. No wonder, since they support abortion, many of their own babies have been aborted!

In response to its earlier article on the “graying” of the pro-abortion movement, Newsweek is now running an edited “online conversation” among various old and young abortion proponents on how they can work together. Both old and young pro-aborts agree that they should involve more men in their movement.

A President and a Prophet: Four Case Studies (when husbands and wives have different views)

Thursday, April 29th, 2010

When husbands and wives have different views: Reality and fiction…

In recent news, First Lady Laura Bush shares her thoughts on aboriton in her memoriors. She is pro-choice, her husband President George W. Bush is prolife.

In her new memoir, Laura Bush writes of her abortion views, “We are a nation of different generations and beliefs, seeing issues through different eras and different eyes. While cherishing life, I have always believed that abortion is a private decision, and there, no one can walk in anyone else’s shoes.”

My Uncle Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. was prolife prophet.  His wife Coretta Scott King was pro-choice. More information on their views is availabe on my website in the MLK PDF on the home page. Uncle Martin said: “The Negro cannot win if he is willing to sacrifice the future of his children for immediate personal comfort and safety.” His wife accepted the Margaret Sanger Planned Parenthood Award in his name.

Also, there are two televison shows currently running, Flash Forward and The Good Wife… In Flash Forward, the wife of the hero is opposed to his fight to save the world. She wants him to abandon his quest and run away with her and their daughter to seek their safety. In other words, she is in opposition to his vision.

In Good Wife, the verdict isn’t in yet. He cheated on her, she hasn’t divorced him, yet. We don’t know if she has his back or not…

I guess the point I’m making here is that when wives support their husbands’ vision, this is in line with the Bible… Women being made for the men, wives being helpmeets, wives submitting themselves to their husbands. I know this is controversial… But women have so much power, and there are so many examples of how battles are won, or lost when the two do not agree or when they do… More to come later…

Birmingham Press Conference to Launch Pro-Life Freedom Rides

Tuesday, April 27th, 2010

Birmingham, AL – Civil rights and pro-life leaders will join this morning for a press conference at 10:30 am at Kelly Ingram Park to announce a series of Pro-Life Freedom Rides to start this summer.

Dr. Alveda King, Director of African American Outreach for Priests for Life and niece of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., and Fr. Frank Pavone, National Director of Priests for Life, will be among those speaking today on a new project that drives home the point that at the heart of civil rights is the right to life.

“The civil rights movement and the pro-life movement are really one movement,” declared Fr. Pavone. “It is the movement that stands up every time human life and dignity are cast down; it is the movement that cries out for equal protection when some are denied their most basic rights.”

This summer’s Freedom Rides are named after the historic efforts of those who rode buses in 1961 to advance desegregation. Details of the project, which is backed by over 40 Birmingham area pastors, civil rights leaders, and pro-life activists, will be revealed at today’s 10:30 am press conference taking place at 5th Avenue North and 16th Street in Kelly Ingram Park. Civil Rights Leaders Re-board the Bus for Historic Freedom Rides

Priests for Life

Tuesday, April 20, 2010

* The Freedom Riders of 1961 took their lives in their hands to protest the injustice of segregation. This summer, Priests for Life and its supporters will stage Pro-life Freedom Rides along those various routes. This time we will be speaking up for the lives of the unborn.

* The Freedom Riders took their action to test a Supreme Court ruling that struck down segregation laws. We will ride to protest a ruling by that same court that legalized the murder of a whole class of human beings.

* The Freedom Riders sought to change the culture of racism in the U.S. We seek to transform the culture of death into the culture of life.

Join us as we kick off this campaign with a press conference on April 27.

“My Uncle Martin had a dream that Protestants and Catholics and Gentiles and Jews would join together and sing the age old spiritual ‘Free at Last,’” stated Dr. Alveda King. “At Priests for Life, we will be singing and praying on the Pro-life Freedom Rides. We urge all people of good will to join us as we link the Civil Rights Movement of the 20th Century to the heart cry for life in the 21st Century.”

“This gathering of pro-life and civil rights leaders is a unique partnership,” said Father Frank Pavone. “By joining hearts and hands and voices in this way, we can help convince Americans once and for all that abortion is the ultimate violation of human rights.”

The rides have been endorsed by African-American and pro-life leaders across the country. Catherine Davis of Georgia Right to Life noted, “In 1857, the Supreme Court, in the Dred Scott case, labeled blacks as property, denying them citizenship. The United States said no to this notion and restored personhood to blacks with the 14th Amendment. In 1973 the Supreme Court in the Roe v. Wade case again took personhood away from a class of people – the unborn. We are riding and calling on all Americans to again reject this notion by restoring the right to life to the unborn.”

The April 27 press conference will set the stage for the first Pro-life Freedom Ride, set for July 23-25. National and local pro-life leaders will gather in Birmingham for a major concert and rally – exact location and venue to be announced. A prayer vigil will take place outside an area abortion mill and then those traveling with the riders will get in the bus for the ride to Atlanta.

Join us as we begin this historic undertaking. Millions of babies are counting on us to ride for their lives.

U N should promote procreative reproductive health; why are they hiding decline in maternal deaths?

Thursday, April 15th, 2010

The U N should re-examine their policies on abortion funding support. Women need love and not abortion. Abortion does not solve problems! People need procreative reproductive health. Their request for $20 billion should be considered only if they agree to end genocide which includes ending abortion. Mothers and children would best be served with more prenatal care, clean water and healthy food supplies, not more abortion and artificial invasive chemical and surgical birth control methods. Natural family planning and procreation are what is needed!

The United Nations, now convening a meeting of government, agency, and foundation representatives to work out a maternal and child health proposal for possible September adoption, released a report this week claiming that worldwide deaths during pregnancy and childbirth remain at about 500,000 a year, in stark contrast with a Lancet study funded by the Gates Foundation that says the figure is really 342,900. The U.N. is expected to ask developed nations to give $20 billion this September for its maternal and child health program.
